August 8Aug 8 My ear is a complete moron about key changes, way far away from absolute pitch (or ear, whatever), which is pretty useful to find similarities between tunes. I also suck at rhythm, just good enough for dancing and getting an awesome wife. Maybe comping if there’s a proficient drummer anywhere near. This happens a lot to me. Cleverer people like Beato showed how an old song is the basis for a few modern (or not so) tunes:All those key changes make not much of a difference for me.

Yesterday at 07:38 PM1 day Basia - the background instruments sound like something out of a Sega Genesis game... maybe Streets of Rage or Shinobi (I mean that in a good way): Edited yesterday at 07:38 PM1 day by HiWire
1 hour ago1 hr Way back in 2003, a creative and wacky Norwegian (is there any other kind?) named Gisle Martens Meyer eleased Resound, his first full length under the name Ugress. It was a breakbeat driven sampledelic good time. On it is the killer track "Decepticons" which among other things, features the sound of Transformers ...transforming being scratched by a DJ. In the 2000s, I used it to lure some of my more nerdy friends into the world of electronic music. It's also littered with samples from the TV series and 1986 movie. (This was years before the Michael Bay CGI slop fests tainted the Transformers name.) "Decepticons" was the first thing I thought of when I heard (voice of Optimus Prime) Peter Cullen died. Do not grieve for him, he shall become one with the matrix. Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by Knuckledragger
