Anyone else watching The Expanse?  I binged season 1 in about 3 days and season 2 is off to a fantastic start.  Possibly the best sci-fi show since BSG...

I disliked the first season.  The second seasons has picked up more of the fun of the books, and the casting choices are settling for me.

Have stayed away from it precisely because I liked the books. Might be time to give in?

Same here.

I didn't really like the last book though (or the book with the poison slugs), so that made go a bit "whatever, it's already ruined, might as well watch the show and relive the best books" 

I'm starved for good space operas, so obviously I enjoyed the first season and second seems even better. Btw, did anyone notice that dialog tracks for S01 were mixed super horribly?

if your starved for good space opera there is always the 110 episode long Legend of the galactic heroes to watch

If you can make it through season 1, I think you'll like season 2.

Season 1 is a bit slow, but I still found it enjoyable and season 2 has been amazing so far.  Scifi channel officially picked it up for a 3rd season today.

Season 2 is wonderful.

I didn't love the first.  They certainly hit their stride this one, though.

I really liked that the technology was pretty relatable to today without some quantum leap in how items were engineered. 

I didn't have an issue with the show, first season, per se, it was just compared to the books.

Unfortunately the deal isn't done, though I hope it does go thru. Hollywood reporter's title doesn't match their first line of the article "Amazon Studios is in talks to revive one of CEO Jeff Bezos' favorite properties." lol

Amazon does have the streaming rights to the existing seasons, seems pretty likely this will happen.  Fingers crossed.

Just read that a couple of the side benefits of Amazon's taking on season 4 is;

No set episode length- something I love about the more "craft conscious" shows like Fargo.

More nudity! 

And probably higher budget as well.  It's not like Bezos cares about prime video being profitable.
