March 30, 200917 yr I think they've always come with multiple impedances -- I have an older one that's 600 ohm.

April 12, 200917 yr Author I gave my dad his gift last night. His starter rig is a DT 770 (recabled and reterminated to a nice 1/4" plug) and the EC/SS. I listened to this rig the other day and found it very enjoyable. Well, my dad was floored. He absolutely loves the rig. I showed him how to set everything up, gave him my iPod to play with and left him listening to the Rolling Stones with a wide grin on his face. I didn't see him for another 90 minutes. He has been stressed out recently for a variety of reasons, so it was great to see him relax with some tunes. And he was genuinely touched to learn that head-casers gave advice about the rig and hoped he liked it. So it looks like we have ourselves another headphone convert. And a big thanks to you all for your assistance. This is a good hobby. Head-Case ftw.
