December 1, 200916 yr comment_301566 No, it's having thousands of dollars invested in DACses preventing you from buying something else you want that's a problem. Report
December 1, 200916 yr comment_301567 Are we talking about audio equipment or relationships here? I can't tell. Report
December 1, 200916 yr comment_301570 I'm just trying to be...what's the opposite of "enabling" -- "...disabling"? "...disenabling"? "...disarming"? Report
December 1, 200916 yr comment_301582 Your argument would be more convincing if you hadn't bought two of them. Report
December 2, 200916 yr comment_301584 But the second one, despite being broken, was so good that it magically turned into a pair of Soundlab speakers! Report

December 2, 200916 yr comment_301593 I need a shirt that says "Your iPod cost more than my DAC/Turntable" because clearly that is very impressive. Yeah don't sell your KGSS, it makes the DACses able to be listened to. Report
December 2, 200916 yr comment_301614 if he really liked his DACses, he would wire them up straight to his headphones. Monkey is letting himself go a bit. Report

December 2, 200916 yr comment_301640 Does Sony still have a super high end consumer business unit? Report
December 2, 200916 yr comment_301645 Well, they have the ES (high end) line(s?) and the R10 & Qualia (statement) lines. Don't know about currently, though. Report
December 2, 200916 yr comment_301648 Does Sony still have a super high end consumer business unit? Well they kinda do have the R line still in Japan and make stuff like this: [url=http://www.sony.jp/audio/products/SCD-DR1/index.html]SCD-DR1 | AV/Hi-Fi Report

December 2, 200916 yr comment_301720 Me thinks Dinny should just drop all his current dacses and buy something really expensive. ML 30.6 or Krell 64 springs to mind... Ohh and the Sony R1 is so good it is quite silly that CD was ever labeled as a "bad" format. Listen to the Meridian G08 next to it and it all becomes abundantly clear... Report

December 4, 200916 yr comment_302546 What is the current thinking on buying Stax products from US retailers or through Japan based retailers like Price Japan? I'm interested in buying a pair of 4070's and see them for around $1750 from Price Japan. Elusive Disc will get me a US pair for $1950. Is the $200 difference worth it for the US warranty? I bought my SR-007's from Audiocubes and haven't had a problem. Report
December 4, 200916 yr comment_302551 The odds of a Stax headphone breaking down are rather slim and if something were to break I'd send it to Japan rather then have Yama's butcher it. I've seen their handy work and it wasn't pretty. Might be a couple of isolated incidents but Stax in Japan does top notch repair work. Report
