Sierra Nevada Black Barleywine Ale

Good Stuff!

2007 Mollydooker Carnival of Love Shiraz, one of the coolest wine labels around next to Sine Qua Non. I have nine bottles of this so I will be opening up one or two a year to evaluate how it evolves.

Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary Grand Cru

IMO this is the star of the 30th anniversary beers.

Had a small pre-dinner Manhattan Martini with my new bottle of Blackwood's gin! Thanks Jim, it is ever so tasty!

wouldn't that variant be called a "martini" :)

Ooops, yes, that is what I meant. Guess I am a little tired. :)

Very pretty Mantini Shelly!

Hotel Georgia Cocktail

2oz Old Raj gin

1oz Small Hand Foods Orgeat Syrup

.5oz lemon juice

10 drops orange flower water

1 egg white

orange twist for garnish

Dry shake liquid ingredients for 10-15 seconds, then shake with ice for another 10-15 seconds. Double strain into chilled cocktail glass. Add twist and consume.

Very tasty even though I overdid the orange flower water without a dropper. Kind of like an Orangecicle. In a good way.

Nice!

If Spec's in Houston doesn't carry the SHF stuff, I'm planning on grabbing some in your neck of the woods. There's a nice article on the proprietress in this month's Imbibe, as well as a few pages on the bourgeoning Austin cocktail scene :)

That looks excellent Al!

Marc: Don't think Specs has any SHF stuff unfortunately. :(

I vote "Shelltini".

a little rye in what is called a whiskey glass - I tend to drink a lot more out of this.

Those are some nice big pours Mikey!

Next up for me is a Vesper, I mean Sazerac (with a big ass lemon twist). ;) Haven't had one of these in quite a while.
