May 17May 17 The Wigmore Hall Recital by Antônio Meneses (2013) https://open.qobuz.com/album/rt6bp6hxqcjgb Example: A pretty and mostly mellow listen and then there was this powerhouse of a Brahms work. Very symphonic for just a piano and cello.
May 17May 17 Magnus Öström "Thread of Life" (Drummer E.S.T.) Every time I listen to this album... I get goosebumps. Especially "Longing". It gradually builds in intensity, the final minutes.... ufffff a masterpiece. And then; Dan and Magnus together again...
May 18May 18 Mozart: Piano Concertos Nos. 20 & 21 by Friedrich Gulda (1975) https://open.qobuz.com/album/fp84x72ff06ca Example (One I could find): I have been checking out Gulda's work recently, including some of his jazz work. This is very nice, I may not agree with all of his choices, but with Abbado and the Weiner/Vienna behind you it is hard to stray too far. Also being some of my favorite works does not hurt. The 1975 recording is a little thin, but not in a distracting way. The 24/192 on qobuz helps as well.

(since it is your birthday). --Copland: Fanfare for the Common Man, Appalachian Spring & Symphony No. 3 by Minnesota Orchestra (2012) https://open.qobuz.com/album/ip2njewvqsrsa I do wish for a high bitrate, but the performance and recording are first rate.
May 23May 23 Every 3-4 years I listen to Paul Simon's The Rhythm of the Saints, and with apologies to Graceland which I love, but has never quite resonated the same, think it's international mix fills a hole no other album does or likely ever will. I'll listen to a dozen or so times in quick succession and promptly stop again. Two times today... so far. Maybe you will find a love That you discover accidentally Who falls against you gently As a pickpocket Brushes your thigh Further to fly
May 23May 23 I had her new album in my queue and then this showed up. so Let X=X by Laurie Anderson (2026) https://open.qobuz.com/album/syta310h4wo50 Example - Just the album opener: Always a treat to have more Laurie.
May 26May 26 I have to admit I prefer Magnus Öström's style but last night I started reviewing Dan Berglund's discography with Tonbrucket. Then, I felt the need to put on this vinyl: an old friend of this thread but for me it is still magical.
May 26May 26 Because reasons... Speaking of friends of the thread. Way Out West by Sonny Rollins (1957) https://open.qobuz.com/album/0088807201473 Example: My first Sonny album I purchased, heavy vinyl from 1992 Analogue Productions. Always stuck. And lives in my queue rent free. I looked and I had three others in my queue, so they just moved to the top. RIP Sonny... 'n thx...

As a diehard KJ fan, I have my "more favourite" and "less favourite" solo piano concert albums of his. I will have to revisit some of them now, thanks for the unintended rec!
May 27May 27 Today my postman left this in my mailbox... I took the opportunity to listen to it and get some sleep. These guys from Gondwana usually have a lot of artists that I love. Jasmine Myra "Where Light Settles"

May 31May 31 I'm finally getting around to listening to Sonny Rollins. We've been at the lake house for a few weeks. Will listen to, Way Out West, when I get back to my vinyl rig. Till then, Qobuz will have to suffice.
