Will listen to, Way Out West, when I get back to my vinyl rig. Till then, Qobuz will have to suffice. The last 45 minutes of the 48 hour memorial is playing. 3
skullguise Posted May 31 Report Posted May 31 Cara Dillon - After The Morning. A tender and beautiful voice, wonderful songs, several nice ballads with a touch of traditional Irish sound/instruments. Great for a mellow Sunday morning. Sample: 5

jose Posted May 31 Report Posted May 31 My shelves are filling up with Gondwana and ACT vinyl, so while doing a bit of cleaning I rescued these little gems. Isao Suzuki I have the XRCD versions and although their price today is exorbitant, I must admit that they sound very, very good... 5
mikeymad Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 The Awakening by Ahmad Jamal (1970) https://open.qobuz.com/album/ej9qdgi86b2ma Example: Rich and meaty set.. 4
Dusty Chalk Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 Matt Elliott, Only Myocardial Infarction Can Break Your Heart https://mattelliott.bandcamp.com/album/only-myocardial-infarction-can-break-your-heart LOL that title. But the music is typically beautiful, very much in line with most everything he's done since Drinking Songs -- fundamentally rooted on acoustic guitar and his voice. 3 1

Dusty Chalk Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 Oliver Lieb's latest release -- nice background music, pretty much designed for coding/researching/reading/&c. Just energetic enough to energize me; just diverse enough to keep my interest without demanding to be engaged with my frontal lobe. https://oliverlieb.bandcamp.com/album/recovered-frequencies-vol-1 1
mikeymad Posted June 11 Report Posted June 11 (edited) ^^ still one of the great soundtracks. Edit: This should be in the movie section - but thought I would drop it here. Edited Thursday at 08:01 PM by mikeymad
mikeymad Posted Thursday at 08:56 PM Report Posted Thursday at 08:56 PM Pardon My French by Eva Hummingbird (2026) https://open.qobuz.com/album/vecdu49h53cl8 Example: New to me - I really liked this series of vignettes by Eva, mostly violin based, but not strictly. 1 1
robm321 Posted Saturday at 11:40 PM Report Posted Saturday at 11:40 PM (edited) ^ I enjoyed this too. BTW, Eva Hummingbird is a fictitious character set in 1940's war torn Europe who is a violinist, composer and double agent. The actual producer, composer and violinist is, Ceskie. robm321 Posted Saturday at 11:56 PM Report Posted Saturday at 11:56 PM Paul Mcartney - The Boys of Dungeon Lane I'm not going to say it's great. In fact, I never actually listened to a Paul Mcartney album before. I've just heard the popular songs on the radio, movies or wherever else they get played, but I thought he's in his 80s, the fact that he has a new album out made me curious and maybe nastalgic that arguably the most talented Beetle is still creating new stuff. With low expectations you might enjoy it. 1
