July 25Jul 25 Python Script Remix Vol.10 - Sonic Youth “This mix is part of our "Python Script Remix" ongoing series. Process : 1. First we made a parallel mix of the 13 tracks from Sonic Youth's album "Goodbye 20th Century" (released in 1999 on Sonic Youth Records). 2. Then we applied various effects to the mix through a Python script, such as a subtle pitch shift with extended feedback, a slow time-stretch with noise-heavy textures, a slow spectral feedback, a smooth saturation with harmonic enhancement, a natural high-pass filter, a wide low-pass filter, a soft EQ, a slow spatialization with noise-based trajectories, a transparent limiter and a fade out. This remix is conceived as a spectral extension of "Goodbye 20th Century", it is a work of amplification, stretching, densification, and slow spatialization, yet without altering the original aesthetic.”

August 3Aug 3 I still like the album, but not as much as I liked all the clips and live tunes I heard. Granted none of those had the singing. They are not singers, and I don't think they are really trying to be. I am a music first person when I listen, I still don't know what most Yes songs are about. So for Who Asked?, I just treat it as another instrument. The drumming is actually a style I like, others out there are copying it now as well. I also recently found out that JD Beck was a grad of School of Rock, which I thought was funny. And I agree don't "Try to Like" it. Hard pass is always the option.
August 5Aug 5 I dunno, maybe. Appreciate the concern, but some of my faves were struggles initially, so I at least want to semi-understand, before dismissing. The vocals, so prevalent, feel like syrup on everything at this point. And I love My Life in the Bush of Ghosts and most of Sigur Rós.Anyway, easier to swallow, except requiring stamina... Bill Evans, Last Waltz (the last concert).
August 6Aug 6 The revivalists - Get It HonestA new album by a band I never heard before. I could sense some genuine enthusiasm from online comments, and I'm glad I checked them out. Three listens in, and I can say every song on this album is good. Endless hooks, rich sound, great vibes the whole way. YMMV.Ex.
