March 27Mar 27 Thelma Houston & Pressure Cooker - I've Got the Music in Me (Sheffield Labs recording on CD) - Picked up at a local Goodwill on a whim based on the label. I was not familiar with the Sheffield Lab era but was intrigued by the cover, so I grabbed it. Have I found my newest obsession? Edited March 27Mar 27 by jpelg
March 28Mar 28 Root Down - Live ! by Jimmy Smith (1972) https://open.qobuz.com/album/0060254782508 Example: Getting a Friday groove on with Jimmy.
March 29Mar 29 Flea's trumpet focused Honora. I'm not in the RHCP fan base (but am Jane's Addiction), so surprised at how enjoyable this is. ex.

The sound quality and performance is outstanding. I recognized two of the songs from my youth but never noticed how good the band was. I'm going to have to track this down on a physical format. It's a keeper. Thanks for rec. Edited March 29Mar 29 by robm321
March 30Mar 30 Arise, Shine by Anna Lapwood (2026) https://open.qobuz.com/album/n779x4iy660bi Example: The Chapel Choir of Pembroke College, Cambridge - really comes alive on this new recording. The title track is an original work by Anna - and of course as an organist she added a bit of that in. Nice Sony Classical recording as always.

April 8Apr 8 Felt Mountain by Goldfrapp (2000) https://open.qobuz.com/album/u1lencfygsq0e Example: Some frapp for taco Tuesday.
April 14Apr 14 A Matter of Time: The Final Hour by Laufey (2026) https://open.qobuz.com/album/flacllvcjozx0 Example: It is not easy to pick an example: Part jazz, part musical, part pop. 19 tracks and just over an hour. It is pretty album, with lots of arrangements by Spencer Stewart. Big production album. Listening deep there is like 40+ tracks per song (probably a lot more).
April 15Apr 15 That's My Story: John Lee Hooker Sings The Blues by John Lee Hooker (1960) https://open.qobuz.com/album/tkvkntyv6760o Example: A worthy remaster - little hot on the mic now and then, but a really good recording.
April 18Apr 18 Probably should be at RSD, but getting nostalgic another direction with America's Greatest Hits. Full album:
April 18Apr 18 ^ Great pick up. Regretting not hitting RSD, but from a thrift store visit a month ago - Frantic Percussion (in stereo-stereo). This works for Saturday afternoon house cleaning. Full album:
