KGSSHV, Balanced Dynahi Rev A and DynaFET board run

I need to see if I can find a decent chassis with heat sinks attached.

AFAIK, all the boards are aimed for one of the hifi2000 chassis.

Heatsink USA also has some decent choices and price is pretty reasonable.

No T2 board sets up for grabs?

I want a set to squirrel away like a nut. :P

I can add that option if you'd like :D

Hi all, I'm going to do a board run for Dr Gilmore's latest projects (KGSSHV, Dynahi Rev A and DynaFET) so if anyone is interested, please sign up here. The KGSSHV will be the latest revision.

  • Cool Package to Deepak seems to be affected by the hurricane... Got stuck in NY for the last 5 or 6 days already Hopefully he won't receive a soaking wet box.

  • Just got my boards. It's a bit startling just how much smaller the Exstata V2 amp boards are compared to the KGSSHV given that they were once identical...

I guess it is an easy decision what to use my Pessante for, since stats > dynamics/orthos :D

I'm a little confused by your spreadsheet, but I'll take two complete sets of everything, including the 2x PSU option (I think that is what I filled out?)

Yeah I read that in the KGSSHV thread. Was kind of more excited about the cheaper easier to build version idea since I would have to import an expensive chassis.

Please sign me up for 2 sets of the KGSSHV boards. Thanks to you, Kerry, and especially Kevin for all the work involved.

I would like that very much sir, depending on price.

I still have some sets left from the last run. Was like $175 + shipping.

Yup, I think you got it right.

Let me see if I could arrange some on-board heatsink PCBs.

I'm up for 2 complete sets of everything as well.

Thanks LN for doing this.

Now to sort out a drill press...

I don't think i have a current layout for the dynafet board, will have to look.

just the balanced dynafet board.

so a kgsshv set is 2 amp boards (there are 2 different kinds) and a power supply board

if you pick the side mount boards, then this should fit in the 3U hifi2000 chassis

a dynahi set would be 2 amp boards and one power supply board

subject to the size of the caps, this should fit in a 2U hifi2000 chassis

a balanced dynahi set would be 2 balanced boards and 2 power suply boards

this is going to need 2 chassis

a balanced dynafet set would be 2 balanced boards and 2 power supply boards

this is also going to need 2 chassis

i'm open to other ideas

It would be VERY NICE if everyone calls up Linear Systems and bugs the crap

out of them for lsj109's, or even the singles versions. If enough people

do it, they might actually sell them.

I'm in for a T2 board set and a KGSSHV side-sink board set.

*Many thanks to Lil Knight for heading up this group buy.

*Thanks to KG for designing and redesigning (over and over and over...) the KGSSHV.

*Thanks to Kerry for your design and prototyping support.

Hm, I might just wait until the PCB mount heatsink version is available. I won't be going above 450V rails.

You don't have to. You can also ask modushop to tap the sinks for you, I think.

I'm in for the KGSS-HV and Dynahi. Thanks for organizing this Tran!

Guys, good news for those who want the onboard heatsinks KGSSHV.

I can offer that option now that Dr Gilmore has fixed the layout for the LSK389.

So now you have 2 options, onboard or offboard heatsink for the amp section. I added a column next to quantity in the spreadsheet. Please mark it "on" or "off" according to your need.

Of course changing the quantity would affect the final price.

I added a couple of on board HV sets to increase the numbers. :)

Regarding the onboard version of the KGSSHV, it is the exact same schematic except the fact that voltage and biasing will be slightly lower right?

I am in for 2 sets of KGSSHV board, one onboard and one external heatsink and 2 sets balanced Dynahi. Will update spreadsheet when I get home, work internet doesn't like the link.

I was already editing it to add my preferences, so I went ahead and put you in there as well.

I would like 2 sets of the external heatsink KGSSHV board sets please. Thanks to Lil Knight for organizing this!

Updated the list for one on, one off. Thank you so much LK. I'm really excited this is happening.

Please count me in for 1 set of the onboard heatsink KGSSHV and also 1 set of the external heatsink. Thanks for doing this.
