I have been trying to score a pair of HD580's recently and have noticed that for the prices I have been receiving I can almost get a pair of HD600's. I found one pair for 210 with a Audigon rating of 8/10 and another pair for 250 with same rating plus a Red Clou cable upgrade. the plan is to occasionaly use them with Headamp AE2 and mainly at home with Onkyo reciever for movies late night. I have an older Sony DVD player. When I bought this player, I researced it pretty heavily and bought it because it was pretty highly regarde for it's SACD\dc playback. I am new in STAX but already fall in love with it after a few audition. Now I like to spend about US$ 500 - 600, yeah it is not enough to get the best Stax, but maybe you guys here can help me to decide what to chose with that amount that your experience has the best in sound quality. My interest is a light jazz and some classic music and maybe some pop music too. I do own a Qinpu A-6000 Hybrid amplifier, that might enough to drive an energizer. Any advice are wellcome, I like to hear your comments, thanks before.

hiya fellas. ive had my 595s for a while now and they've had some issues. at one point i lost nearly all sound from them, discovered my ground was disconnected and was able to fix that. the only lingering problem is a rattle coming from within the right driver. ive taken the right cup apart and found no hair in the driver, tried blowing gently on it to try and pop out a potential crease in the diaphram, and no luck. really a bummer at this point, anyone got an idea? edit: it should be noted that the rattle is only present during really low bass notes, and this is all the more reason id like them fixed.. i listen to a lot of Dubstep.

A good balance between details and sweetness. With other words, I like the sound of an Audiolab 8000A, but can not listen to it for more than like 30 minutes. I've been in a state of bliss over the last week since getting my HD650s with the Headroom Balanced Amp. I'd forgotten how much fun it could be to listen to music. I'm so happy that I just spent $5,000 on a CD player, which has convinced my friends that I've gone over the edge. And then it happened... I noticed a really persistent ringing in my ears. Like 12 hours long. I've tried to be really easy on the volume, but it seems like the headphones don't "come alive" until they hit a certain sweet spot, which may be a little more loud than my ears should be listening to. After going throw allot of the headphones I decided to sell all my expensive gear and just settle for the hp2 with some cheap matching dac and amp. I was looking at the asgard 2 and ckIII to match maybe with the loki dac but have no idea on what amp should sound good with the hp2. Looking for suggestions.

So I am in the market for some closed headphones. I have heard grado's and like them, have heard AKG'S and like them. Read a few forum posts on HF and ran across the AKG 270P's. Since I have a pair of Sextett's and I like them, I thought maybe the 270P's might be a good fit. However, I trust the opinions on this forum a lot more than the stuff I read over at that "other" forum. So has anyone heard the AKG K270 Playback's? Anyone own a pair? I listen to a lot of different types of music, but I would use my closed cans for rock, hip-hop, and the occasional jazz session. Any opinions and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I have been having pain in my left ear, I went to the Dr. and he said my ear was inflammed and gave me antibiotics. I stopped wearing headphones for a few weeks and my ear felt better. Yesterday I put my favorite headphones on (HD 600) and my ear began to hurt again. The pain is located around the tragus (towards nose not canal) it started with sensitivity to volume and higher pitches now it is just a pain relating to pressure from the headphones. The pain eventually goes away my concern is for the long term and am wondering the best way to proceed is (no more hd 600's oddly enough have read of 3 accounts incredibly similar to mine, moving towards speakers anyway . I had no idea I was a headphone snob but now I know it's official. While listening to my new MS2i heaphones the most elitist and snobby thoughts about my HD650's kept going though my head. My headphone upgrading path started with a pair of Grado SR80's > Sr325's > HD650's shortly followed by a zu mobius cable now 3 years after my HD650's a wild hair caused my to buy a pair of MS2i's. At first I really liked the grado line, that is, until I first heard a pair of HD600's. After that first listen my grados began to sound unbearable. The highs were just too much for me. Hey, I've recently stumbled upon someone selling Beats By Dre Pro for about 200 bucks. Seems like a bargain doesn't it? I know Beats aren't the best headphones, but I'd be happy to buy them for 200 bucks. He claims they are original and still in good condition. Says he has a receipt too. But you just can't be sure enough with all these fakes nowadays. In my opinion they seem pretty legit, but I'm just a newb. i currently have UE Superfi 5 EB (extended bass) 's and i just got back from the UE place in Irvine where i tested out the demo models for the 10's,11's, and the new 18's and was kinda dissapointed. they're all lacking in the bass dept for the price tag that they have IMO . They said that after they're fitted to my ears, that they would have twice as much bass .. but i still think there should have been more on those universal demos compared to my year old universal 5 EB's. I'm thinking of checking out the new JH16's that are shipping next month but would like to hear some opinions on the JH13's from anyone who has had or tried them and may or may not have tried the UE's …
