  1. Visited Mt. Saint Helens. Holy crap that was awesome.
  2. A couple excursions today. Martha's Vineyard, which was E's first aquatic voyage. Slightly windy. Then later Candlepin Bowling. Check. Now to find Duckpin and Feather Bowling lanes.
  3. ^ Looks wonderful. Last day on vacation here so spent morning at a tiny beach.
  4. Jeff, I'll trade you my GTI, my beer collection, 1/4 bottle of Pappy 20, Rolex Explorer II and a little cash for your S4 )
  5. It's what you are doing today, isn't it? I do not have a whole lot of advice to offer, but I can tell you that when it comes to real estate, figure out exactly what you want beforehand, look constantly, but be patient. Regrets in this area really suck hard.

  7. not exactly. dynahi has cascade on the input transistors because that was right at the limit of the fets. the bipolar part has 6 more volts rated, so cascade technically not necessary. Also vas stage has double transistors for more output current. otherwise identical. dynahi was also +/-30 and the ssdynalo was +/-20 although you could raise it a bit. boards have cleared customs should be here by Friday, and I have the parts to build and test them. once they are verified working (and I have checked the layout many times) people could go ahead with a group buy. birgir is getting me prices on the power supply.
  8. Just my opinion Shelly and I'm very averse to committing to buying a house/condo so take it with a grain of salt - in your current situation and coming from a real house downsizing to a smaller place, I would recommend renting to see how you like (or not) living in an apartment or condo. While one can argue that whatever money you pay for rent could've gone to paying down a house, for your peace of mind and convenience especially with what you have gone thru in the last few months is probably more important than anything else right now, hence renting is probably the better choice for managing your stress level. That way you don't have to worry about the what-if's and if you do change you mind, you're only tied in for a year (or whatever your lease term is). Again, just my opinion and this is coming from someone who greatly favors convenience and stress-management over ownership and equity-building.

  10. Raffy, it is entirely possible I will get too bored with this and sell it off to get something nicer. I tend to waste a lot of money buying things trying to be sensible instead of just getting something worthwhile from the beginning.
  11. I'm with Nate. The S4 looks so much better than the Golf R. I keep looking at the A4 (since I can't afford/justify the S4).
  12. No not really. Audi dealer was pretty disappointed when I told them how boring I think the S4 is.
  13. Reggie at Pine State Biscuits. Brent: no!
  14. Wut? Sounds better, possibly, looks better? Not a chance. I saw two S4's this weekend and reminded my wife that at some point one will be parked in our driveway again. I'm actually trying to talk to an indie mechanic this week to get a feel for options for non-dealer service. Gotta plan ahead, doncha know.
  15. Is there a groupbuy for the dynalobal board at the moment?
  16. Friends wedding... ... with the coolest straws ever.
