  1. So this morning I was in charge of taking Lance to fencing practice since Mary was at the hospital checking in on one of our friends who is very very sick. Since I had three hours to kill I decided to pop into Performance Bicycles to update myself on the latest bike porn which I cannot buy. While roaming the carbon fibre wheel section I hear some loud racket in the next aisle. I look around the corner and see two guys bent over a recumbent bike and working on the chain ring. That's odd I thought, then I notice one of the guys is in a wheel chair with a US Marines sticker and a Gary Sinise Foundation sticker fixed prominently on the back of his wheel chair. Soon they are joined by a second man, also in a wheel chair with a US Marines sticker on the back. Between the two veterans they had a total of three working limbs and a lot of carbon fiber prosthesis. My "appreciate what you have" button took a massive reset at that moment.

  6. Does this sit in a closet, or is it furniture? Cause if it can be ugly then you can get a small server with more power for less money. Any version of *nix will run all the things you want without much trouble. I run a headless TS440 with Vortexbox/Fedora and it does everything you mention.

  7. Saw this morning that a restaurant I had been meaning to try for a while (restaurant Zoe) is shutting down the restaurant side in favor of catering after this weekend, so got a reservation. We are losing something here, as its really good. Steak tartare Manila clams and lavender cured pork belly Spanish Grenache blend

  10. No kidding! That was something special. Some of Gordon's dunks were mind boggling. If there was such a thing as "extra credit" beyond a score of 50, he would have won the contest, hands down. Taking nothing away from Zach, who was also getting legit 50s. But even on Gordon's last dunk, he deserved a 50 rather than 47. I think some of the judges gave him 9 instead of 10 because he switched to a "safer" dunk, even though he was the only guy on the planet ever to do that dunk! That, and Levine was reigning champ and playing to his home crowd... how else to pick one over the other?

  15. I really enjoyed both, and I think it's kind of a shame they came out so close to one another. I think it hurt both of their chances at being really successful. "Oh yeah, another 'magic' movie." While "The Prestige" was obviously more ambitious, there's definitely an understated charm to "The Illusionist." I also thought David Bowie was great in "The Prestige." I didn't even realize it was him the first time I watched it. And if you're talking about Biel & Johansson, don't forget Piper Perabo in "The Prestige!" Mmmmmm, Piper...
