  1. Spent the weekend on the lake! I’m addicted.
  2. ^^Brought to you by the Letter K?
  3. Unless all you have is Kansas and Diana Krall -- and who am I to judge -- that's not particularly random.
  4. You’d probably just have a particular clientele.
  5. You should probably always fly a kite (with key) whenever outside to be safe.
  6. Unpacking and setting up house music. Loaded up and played on Random... good day Today's load up and Random Now - some Sade...
  7. Started my daily walk in light rain. Rain became heavy. Raised umbrella. Saw lightning and heard thunderclap less than a second later. Realized I was a walking lightning rod. Turned around and went home.
  8. My first attempt at ramen eggs. Presentation leaves a lot to be desired, and the white was too firm but the texture of the yolk was fantastic.
  9. I did my last little bit of cross training for the 100 mile ride I'll be doing next weekend. Here's to hoping the nearly 1,200 miles I've logged this year so far were enough.

Slightly later Rolex booklets are less interesting, regardless of whether it was my dad's or not. That 1680 is in a safe deposit box. Noon pearl intact.

Another thing for watch fans. Camp Eagle was where the 101st Airborne had their headquarters. That was obviously not retained by the jeweler.
  12. I used to enjoy running in a lightning storm - I really like the deluge of rain after the hot and humid that led up to it. But one day, about a mile of so from home, there was a simultaneous flash and BANG. Followed by a strong smell of acrid and ozone. Must've struck not many yards away. Scared me really bad. That cured me entirely of running in a lightning storm
  13. My latte art looks more like a penis and testicles than anything else. I would make a lousy barista!
  14. The beans and the way they are roasted make a huge difference in my experience, but I'm a french press driver. Good friend that takes the pour over route and we have similar results...the beans and how they are roasted definitely make a difference. I cannot speak to the espresso route aside from having used several espresso style beans in my press. Back when I was enamored with darker roasts. I'm past that phase for the most part. HS
  15. That doesn’t match my experience at all. Beans make a huge difference. Unless you like French or Italian roast espresso blends of course. Yes, you have to have the right grind, temperature, roast profile, pressure and temperature profile during extraction, but all that is just a skill. Beans are the difference between Starbucks and awesome. Mysore coffee is why I roast my own. I can get them when they’re available and have roast them when I want them.
  16. Holy moly. This gent pees ice cubes. Mr. Andy Wallace, I bow to you sir as you are a ROCK STAR! I wasn’t expecting to see a steel Drive extra-flat. I walked out with it on my wrist.
  18. I had Indian coffee this morning.
