  1. I hate to post about headphones on a booze and light banter site, but these might actually be interesting (T+A is a very German, engineering-driven audio concern) and are reassuringly expensive at $6400. The DAC/amp is apparently $8900. https://www.ta-hifi.de/en/musicreengineered-solitaire/

  2. On assumes that they used Urban Dictionary before choosing their company name? On another front, headphones like these make me miss Tyll all the more.

  3. Agree with JP that the amp/DAC is gorgeous. I've liked the look of T + A for awhile, but haven't heard any of this gear.

  6. Yup! I'm totally excited! Spent the off season watching all kinds of F1 fluff to stave off withdrawal.

  8. When I was recently binging on Throbbing Gristle, threw in some Psychic TV and Coil too.....was cool to hear the parts that tied them together, but also the progression of each band.

  9. Several of us need Analog to Digital converters in addition to a high quality DAC for playback of digital sources. jp# does needle drops of vinyl and if you want to use digital signal analysis software, you need a way to convert audio and analog sources to get them into your computer. Me, I have a pretty sophisticated home studio. I started doing live music editing, a little mixing, post production and now I concentrate on music production of my own works. It's a real golden age for guys that do stuff like me . I got my first Metric Halo interface (ULN-2) way back in 2009 IIRC. I've updated it once and I still use it for location recordings. I bought Voltron's Amarra (LIO-8) a few years ago, added 4 mic preamps and then upgraded it to 3D about a year ago. Each of these upgrades were like getting a new updated interface with improved sound and more modern connections.

  10. Today’s mini project. Timer 555 with a few other components. When IN (the empty pad just below left leg of the two color LED) is low then RED, if high then GREEN. Standby/On indicator.
