  1. All GB packages have been shipped as of today except for two. One of the two is pending the participant's response to my shipping payment request. Most of you have PayPal'ed me the shipping cost. Thanks! For those who have not yet PayPal'ed me the shipping cost please check your PM or PM me. I have been keeping track but there were 50 packages so may have missed a few. Shipping cost for US address is a flat rate of $8.4 US. For non-US address it depends on the location and weight and I added $1 US for the bubble envelop used. This GB is now officially closed. Happy building!

  2. Exactly one guess who he's talking about. *fap* *fap* *fap* Fjaðrárgljúfur. Also, I'm pretty sure Icelandic isn't a language, but an elaborate prank on the rest of us. I want this to be true. Is this guy a Head Caser? California PCM. No comment from Senator Burr.

  3. Speaking of super fun series, one of the pluses of HBO becoming HBOMax is the Warner/TBS tie in, so Search Party seasons one and two are widely available before season three hits in a few weeks (season four already deep in production). Been drinking in season two around work this week.

  4. I am moving Kerry's mini GRHV\GRLV GB discussion to its dedicated thread here. I also included JoaMat's mini T2 here to see if we have enough interest for a GB. The table will be updated periodically as more people participate. Apologize if I missed someone or something - just let me know so I can correct the data. I put down one set for those that have not decided on the number of sets they want. The plan is to have assembled GRHVxxx boards, rest of boards will be PCB only. See discussions on the PS in this thread. mini T2 build discussion in this thread. Construction notes: R3 and R2 determine the regulated voltage for GRLV. The formula is Vout = (R2 + R3)/R3 * Vref. Vref is the reference voltage of U4 (LT1021). R7, R8, R9, R10 determine the regulated voltage for GRHV. The formula is Vout = ((R8 +R9 + R10)/R7 + 1) * Vref. Vref is the reference voltage of IC1 (LT1021). You want to keep R8, R9 R10 values close so they have even voltage drop across each of them. On the PSU Main board, R22 (100K) and C17 (470uf) set up the delay time for HV. The 100k/470uf combination provides a roughly 45 seconds delay. Increase R22 or C17 to increase the delay time. C17 needs to be rated 5VDC or higher. Board dimensions: mini T2: 160mm x 100mm GRHVxxx: 41mm x 31mm GR78xx/GR79xx: 30mm x 20mm Main board (PSU): 140mm x 90mm See BOM for boards at the bottom. Blank in the GRHVxxx-bare column indicates that the participant has not responded on this thread to indicate the preference for bare or partially-assembled boards and is deemed to opt for partially-assembled board by default as previously communicated. BOM: GRHV78xxx-BOM.xlsx miniT2v.22_Date_2020-02-16.xls GR78xx - V2 .xlsx GRHVBase-BOM - V2 production.xlsx GR79xx-V2.xlsx

  5. ^I really liked season 1 of Search Party. IIRC, season 2 kind of went off the rails & lost it's likeability, imo.

  13. I’ve got one of Akwok’s SR007 Mk1s, serial 70060, I hope it was the preferred pair... I think this puts them at number 60 on the product line... but I’m not entirely sure how true this is when it come to Stax serial number hierarchy.

  14. I've seen the gigantic call for help and anybody to take him seriously. Everybody knows though that David Mahler is a brain dead fucktard and moar monies does not equal bettah soundz. Seriously, the guy makes Sixmoons seem level headed and accurate. For me the SR-009 only appears to be neutral as the upper mid/lower treble issues are clearly a coloration. That plus the bass issues means it's not the chameleon the Mk1 is (and to a certain extent the SR-Omega) which changes to meet what ever it is fed. It has a sound which is super smooth and a bit on the dark side but that doesn't mean it can't rock out or be painfully bright. In the end the 009 always sounds like a 009, feed them something dark and the brightness doesn't disappear nor does the shelved bass.

  17. Now this is an odd one. David Dees, absolutely batshit insane conspiracy theorist and Photoshop artist died at 62. Dude was off his trolley by the standards of conspiracy theorists. He was imbalanced compared to the guy shouting on a street corner. He made Ted Kaczynski and Ben Garrison look like rational actors: https://www.ddees.com/ The art of Dees is so insane that it represents Poe's Law in full. ` Here's the thing: Dees' art actually was art. The dude had a great deal of technical skill and a distinctive style. His works are like a rabbit hole of carefully crafted insanity. You look too long and you can feel your own sanity wearing away.
