This whole discussion has made me realize that my slightly modified EAD DSP 1000 has been in storage for 5 years. Geez. I have a plan for it but at what point is a plan no longer valid? I'll update that research in 5 years or so I guess.5 points

Never have I felt so personally attacked. Would not wear. People are going to think it's a MAGA (or "KAG") hat at any distance. 2020 in one photo. "Strangers, lovers and a family." BMW R100 RS “Good Ghost” Bentley Mark IV, 1940's V-12. Heatman/Caton.4 points

Ah, it took a while! I connected it to a Schiit Jotunheim, a fairly inexpensive but relatively clean headamp, via balanced. It was.. clean, unsparing. I didn't notice much stereotypical delta sigma harshness, but it certainly sounded somewhat surgical. That's exactly what I'd want it to sound like, honestly- I have a Gungir multibit for when I went things to sound a little more.. forgiving. I essentially, it sounds clean and pleasant. I don't think the built-in headamp is stellar, not enough grunt to really have "grip" on the drivers, especially on sluggards like old HD650s, but it's fine for casual monitoring. Via the various line outs, however, it gives an impression of precision. Whether that's to your taste for recreational listening would be an ecumenical matter 😉 Have you seen that new smol Dreadbox thing? It looks like fun: ..if you like modulation craziness, their Erebus V3 is a delight, I have one of those, and can't bear to part with it, even though I probably have too many synths. It sounds stunning, classic fat subtractive sound for such a small desktop synth. Very underrated and has a very nicely-appointed patch bay for all your weird modulation needs too. Also, if you like weirder, have you seen the Make Noise 0-Coast? Sorry for the massive video spam, but if you're in the mood for a fun smallish mono, those are potentially dangerous to your free time.3 points

The Maltese Falcon because pretty much everything sucks on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and HBO Max right now.3 points

Well don't touch the asphalt... just skid with the rear wheel locked for 60m at 50km/h. I have already ordered the spare parts but I have fallen in love with a nice Bianchi frame. Now I just have to convince my wife ... and my bank account 🙂1 point

You could fill your month with inspired by Sierra Madre films including, but far from limited to There Will Be Blood, The Wild Bunch, Three Kings, Da 5 Bloods, right up to Wet Gold.1 point

Those look neat, but I don't think they check all the boxes for me in terms of being able to play with the rest of my setup the way I want. Plus I don't want to try any modular gateway drug because it's apparently as addictive and expensive as cocaine. I ended up ordering the Mono Station. It has a pretty good synth, but also being able to step-sequence the filter, distortion, and other modulation stuff with external audio - that makes it a killer external effects unit IMO, similar to the Octatrack. I want to sing through it.1 point

^ Shoutout to HBO MAX. Their selection of classic movies is pretty impressive.1 point

Both seasons of The Umbrella Academy (Netflix), Absolutely fantastic! Everything a sci-fi/superhero ensemble franchise should be. Very well produced on all levels, and fresh. Highly recommended for fans of this genre.1 point

Apologize if you already ruled this out - could it be the cable instead of the driver that actually died?1 point

That is a pic off google...not my wrist. I do well with 39-40mm watches, but it didn't look crazy big. I thought about getting the version with the bracelet, but I'm not that keen on it. I had a Seamaster that I "lost" in South America back in the early 2000's...a move and I trusted the office too much with things in my desk...my bad. Was a nice watch. For me that watch is all about the rubber bracelet...the look of it. I'll try it again and take my time and see if it works. I've got a watch ordered...long lead item. I won't jinx it, but I sure do hope it makes it in the next 6-8 months. I'll post here if it does. HS1 point

I switched the cable so that the right channel was connected to the left driver and vice versa and the right driver was still not producing sound.0 points
