  1. Yes that is so true. My dad died at the too-young age of 71 in 1994 and my mum at 85 in 2008. I'd give a whole lot to have them back to chat to over a few beers. Still miss them after all this time.
  2. I think I just broke a record. Just hung up from a 5 1/2 hr. phone call with my Mom. I just don't have the heart to cut her short after everything she's been through lately. My ear hurts and I'm starving. She really needs an ear to bend though, and as tough as that was, I just want to make her a little happier. I'm sure after she's gone I'll wish I could talk to her for hours.
  3. Not quite yet, but gonna drive up to Dayton National. Yesterday was my dad’s birthday. I have a little note from me and my mom to put there. We’re past the anger. My mom would go with me, but she has physical difficulties.
  4. today was our thanksgiving because of family timing. I made a turducken
  5. I made bison steaks for Thanksgiving. The first one was overdone but not leather; the second one was perfect. I did, however, let them marinate too long.
  6. The Peter Jackson Beatles thingy...VERY interesting to fans... it should definitely carry a Yoko warning...keep the remote within lunging distance...
  7. That would be something. 71lbs of espresso machine...woof. Watched a good bit of James Hoffman today between to-do's. HS
  8. I know you're eating a ton but I hope you get to follow up with whisky eventually. Cheers!
  9. Pepper Jack cheese omelet, bacon & biscuits. And an Earl Beige to drink. Life is good.

  11. the bad espresso thing is the great thing about the decent: lots of data about what went wrong
  12. Happy Thanksgiving weekend! Yumi and I had lunch at Artisans (French restaurant) and then ipic to see The House of Gucci. Adam Driver and Lady Gaga were excellent and so was the food and drink!
  13. I have been named Wallmart best cüstomer! My phone doesn't work since I tried to click the link, but I can't wait for my gift card to arrive!
  14. Not myself, I'd already left for work. But I heard that Suzy fought off a racoon that wondered into the apartment. I've been leaving the door open for her, and it must have looked like a good place to look for food. The landlord heard her barking like crazy (she doesn't bark unless something seems wrong to her), came down to investigate just as Suzy was chasing the racoon out of the apartment. I guess I'll have to stop leaving the door open. No signs of scratches or bites on Suzy, says the landlord. She said Suzy calmed down quickly.
  15. R.I.P. Sir Frank Williams...F1 legend dies at age 79...
  16. RIP Almudena Grandes. Died from cancer at 61. She was a writer that I enjoyed very much. She wrote a series of books named "the never ending war" from the losers of the Spanish Civil War point of view (that's communist, anarchists and democrats in general). She also wrote a couple of columns weekly in the newspaper I usually read in Spanish. Clever, kind and decent human being. I'll miss her writings a lot. Godspeed, Almudena
  17. R.I.P. Stephen Sondheim... 91...
