  1. Was able to nail together the ottoman for the lounge chair setup out front. My Total Boat Wood Sealer I used on the chair has gelled up on me so I tried to thin it down as the stuff is out of stock everywhere. Hopefully it behaves in it thickish oil current format.
  2. You owe me 5 minutes of my life back!
  3. This seems to be pretty well done. With the added bonus of actually being filmed in Anchorage. I recognize all of the buildings and locations. Even filming inside The Captain Cook hotel, where I once worked.
  4. That's funny. It has nothing in common with Northern Exposure, but since series about Alaska (withstanding reality shows, which really have nothing to do with reality) are rare, the comparisons will abound certainly. I imagine the show will be more fun for myself, because of the buildings and locations that I know well. Same can be said of the local viewpoints, which they've actually captured well. It does make me homesick, so hopefully they'll film in winter to break that spell. ๐Ÿ˜
  5. I think your challenge here is that you are not going to get any of the "BBQ" flavor by only slow cooking the pulled pork in a instapot or crock pot. That's not to say that it might not be very tasty, the carnitas recipe that I use mostly cooks the pork in a slow cooker but still pan fries the pork at the end and for me, that makes all the difference. Still, when I want BBQ pork, that's what I want. If I were in your shoes I might try using the balsamic vinegar to make a BBQ sauce. that sounds yummy to me. Might be a start here - https://www.thereciperebel.com/honey-balsamic-pulled-pork/
  6. No complaints about the GOT season. I enjoyed it very much. Started The Peripheral over the weekend. Might this be the Amazon adaptation of a book from a beloved author that is worth watching? First two episodes have me very intrigued indeed!

Picked up a little mid-60s Omega Seamaster dress watch. A new green Horween shell strap and voila: the watch I wanted the Cartier Drive to feel like on the wrist. Keeps -10, which ainโ€™t bad at all (it was given a VERY basic service by the seller).

I don't really give a shit what you think but my views/impressions are never for sale. The CRBN is flawed but still an excellent set of headphones with production quality rivaling Stax is many ways. In terms of sound, that is always subjective, but it's clear, based on the market, that people are not happy with where Stax are going. Used prices of 009's are now often below that of a used 007 (not even a rare Mk1) and the 009S's are headed that same way. Also notice how little talk there is about the X9000 from the long term Stax owners, those that did buy a set, quietly sold them off as they just aren't good.

    Just bought this.
  10. Went a little crazy today and in the morning while I had time I candied some chopped pecans for use later in the day. When I finally had more time, after making dinner, I made maple frosted pecan scones.
  11. - oats cooked in milk, butter and honey - whole wheat flour - bread flour - dates - walnuts - nutmeg - cinnamon - orange zest - yeast & salt
