my year of continuing to do things that I probably should pay for, but can’t bring myself to continues. Today’s adventure was rehabilitating my malfunctioning water heater. For $135 in parts I was able to replace all of the active and passive internals and upon reassembly, it didn’t leak and produced hot water. it only took two trips to the hardware store so I view that as a win as well. I figure I saved myself at least 500 bucks today.

Ribeye - reverse seer on pellet grill.. Set Chimp to 225 until internal temperature got to 115. Then took grill up to 500 and seared for 2 minutes each side. The temp is pretty spot on. And lovely smoke.

This morning, after reading the year's best jazz albums chosen by a newspaper "expert" I listened to The Attic & Eve Risser - La Grande Crue Too free and avantgarde for my taste. Then to clean the sadness for not being able to listen to a single whole tune: Keith Jarrett and two very talented guys - The Old Country This is something that I not only can listen, but also enjoying deeply.

From my last autocross event. I’ve since modified my seating position to get lower in the car. I like being upright, but I had to adapt a bit to get more of a sports car position to get my head lower. I got smoked by all three Miata’s in this field, but they all had semi-slicks and I’m in street tires. This was the last event of the year so all the good drivers came out to compete. Much to improve in the 2025 autocross season!

Had some shopping to do before work, so I stopped at a favorite diner of mine.

Al told me to stop building things. For variety's sake, Andrew and I emptied the bank account last weekend to go see the defending NBA champs. Was a lot of fun, got to see an OT buzzer beater from Tatum on our end of the court. Was a good dude's night out.
