  1. New solid state CCS for Megatron. Now with a third pin for ground. The pins are made from 2.5 mm brass rod, which is almost 0.10 mm thicker than tube pins. PCB is a CNC milled one side 1.5 mm copper clad. So, no copper on top side of PCB. Holes for the three pins are 1.0 mm deep and you have 0.5 mm epoxy laminates left. Transistor pins are protected with heat shrink tube and the exposed metal tab is protected with a 3D printed cover. The screw holding transistor to heat sink is electrical connected to it and to the ground pin. The white base with guide pin is made of three 3D printed parts.

I'm not entirely sure what's going on here: $473 in audio plugins for less than $3 with the discount code FUCKUADANDGUITARCENTER because guitar center pissed off Sam Pura.
  4. We weren't expecting this. But we got to sample the dark ambient of inscissors

Via Flickr, two fun bits of history: Edit: Anyone know what is that rectangular thing to the left of the Lisa? Behind the "bar of soap" mouse. I think it might be a software box.
  6. We've watched all four episodes and it's fun. But I have some kind of bumpy rash on the back of my neck and I'm concerned something is going to pop out and kill me.
  7. Pelageya is one of my favourite singers even though most of her songs are in languages I don't understand. Here she performs a Ukrainian folk song with Veronika who was her student on one of their game shows.
  8. There was more grillin' tonight Some of it was plain dirty I was invited to carve And the other meats Result!
  9. Your presence there is not going unnoticed.
  10. I like the idea of dessert on the house. As do the local cats
  11. It might be a binder of Apple printed documentation for the Lisa.
  12. Apparently you've never watched the Alien movies.

  14. Here are the links that my brother recommended: The League of American Bikers: https://bikeleague.org/#null https://bikeleague.org/ridesmart/ridesmartvideos California Bicycle Coalition: https://www.calbike.org I like blessingx's suggestion of a horn. I have a bell on my e-mtb bike. I also suggest both a front and rear lights to make yourself more visible when not in a group.
  15. Upload, Season 4 just arrived (only 4 short episodes) Mixed emotions...
  16. And there was cake There is always room for cake
  17. Sorry for the late response. I believe that you are talking about road biking as opposed to gravel or mountain. I don't know much about road biking so I asked my brother, who is a certified road bicycle safety instructor, to send me some links. I'm busy this morning but I'll post them this afternoon. The main thing to remember is that you are basically invisible to drivers. So, anything you can do to make yourself more visible is a plus. But always act assuming that car drivers don't see you when you ride.
  18. My Mother had shingles 3 times. She said it was absolutely miserable. And the vaccine is not as strong once you've already had shingles I'm told. I got my shingles vaccine a few years back, as well as RSV.
  19. Be a defensive rider. Saved my ass the other day (quite literally) as I watched someone approach the main road from the side, look, see no cars, and promptly pull out in front of me. If I hadn't been already preparing to brake hard and avoid the collision it likely would have ended poorly for me the bike t-boning into the side of the otherwise immoveable car. Cranked out some relatively hard miles yesterday in one of the last major efforts of training before the century in less than two weeks. The tailwind for the first 17 miles was nice. The punch in the face for the last 12 miles, not so much. But all around a nice ride.

In the past few months, I haven’t been idle. Besides finishing a T2 Mini, I also continued to refine the GG chassis design. Through these experiences learning 3D design, I decided to completely re-draw the CAD files and hand them to a professional factory for prototyping (yes, I don’t believe a hobbyist garage CNC can really handle this job☹️). Below are some photos of the sample unit. This time the chassis is fully CNC-machined, which is why you can see the extremely thick panels and the more complex geometric structures compared to earlier versions. The side heatsinks are not separate parts. They are directly CNC machined into the chassis walls. At the same time, the bottom cover is split into two independent left and right plates, each with a grid-style cutout design. You can remove only one side of the bottom cover to do testing or adjustments without disturbing the entire chassis. The grid pattern reduces weight while maintaining mechanical strength, and it also improves ventilation inside the chassis. More updates will follow soon.
  22. Alien Earth. Ok, wow! VERY strong start. Let’s see if they can keep this up! I’m very much enjoying this.
  23. That seems really unlikely. If something that wants to kill you is already inside your body, I'd think it would just burrow in further.
