  1. My daughter (almost 12) is on the yearbook staff at her magnet school. Her grade went on a field trip to the Atlanta Aquarium, and she was one of four people allowed to take a camera. I set her up with my Canon SL1 with a 28-105 F/3.5-4.5 and a few tips on shooting. This was only her second time shooting a dSLR. She got a lot of pix of her classmates, but this pic I fell in love with. **BRENT**

  2. Left my job at the news agency. Started working for a company that develops calibration software for studio monitors. Super excited!

  3. Not entirely on topic but my wife and I are finally moving ahead with getting plans drawn up for digging out the basement at our house to make a HT/Kids room/guest room. I'm getting rather excited about the whole thing and while I will not be able to set up the room perfectly (speakers are going to have to be wall mounted) I'm going to get around that with some technology. Right now I'm thinking BD-Player and Cable Box -> 65" TV, HT Reciever -> 8 channel AD converter -> AES digital-> 3 Genelec 8330 + 4 Genelec 8320 (or maybe 4 more 8330) + Genelec 7350A Sub running Genelec GLM network and room correction. We'll see what the budget comes out at. Another option is making it movies only and skipping the cable box downstairs.

  4. I hope you have time to monkey around today, and it's great that you got to hang out with some HC buds last night. Cheers!

  5. Yeah, it's one of the local startups. As the new marketing project manager it is my duty to show you what we have done so far. I tried the method on my LS50ies - and managed to get some extra low end and got rid of the midbass hump. But damn, I was bugging these guys for an interview for like half a year and then out of the blue they offer me this position. Felt good.

  6. Basement = good light control = projector. There's no substitute for screen size and if it's going to need to double as a kids' playroom it's very nice to have the expensive kit safely suspended from the ceiling!

  8. Indeed and I for one always remove the metal clip on these. Not a problem on the BHSE but the other amps have the trimpots on the inside and that useless clip can cause a lot of damage...
