  1. Thanks all! We aren't as bad off as others, it's easy to keep things in perspective. At the hotel now, after a warm and comfy night's sleep. We found my mother-in-law's place has power, and I believe our place does too now; we'll check after we leave the hotel. Cleanup and replacing food are the next tasks. But everyone is OK, that's the best thing. Wishing good thoughts for others! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

  4. I think they are still talking 2oz for the group buy. I don't know what the basis for the current moar is better philosophy on copper weight is. All of the older GBs (dynalo, dynahi, etc.) were 1oz boards, many of which I have reworked several times with no problems. Some boards need the heavier copper (Stax stuff, the GRLV/GRHV). Most don't.

  5. The links I posted above will take you to the current files. cfa2cmirror is the schematic and the latest edition of the CFA2, and is the basis for the boards in the GB. Kevin changed the servo layout and how it feeds back into the amp as some of us found the servo in the original to be audible. I've attached the original CFP2 BOM, and a BOM for the GRLV. I don't recall whether I updated the CFP2 BOM for the latest, but it should be close. The original 1 ohm resistors were wirewound; this BOM has the 3W Vishay metal film in it which is a better choice. CFP2 BOM.xlsx GR LV BOM_Sep26.xls

  6. Well, if you can get the heat sinks to transfer some heat to the chassis (shimming extra metals on top the sink so it can get touch the chassis top), doubt that the heat in the channels would be a problem. My Mini's temp is about 32C with help from the chassis to dissipate the heat; without the chassis help, it was well above 50C. I didn't do any hole into my sinks. I see you didn't attempt QFN solderings with your new re-flow gun?

  7. I'm totally diggin' the new TNT show "The Alienist". It hits all the complicated characters buttons. The sets are amazing and right up there with big budget movies like the Robert Downy Jr Holmes series. Great "Nerds in Victorian New York" fair.

  8. Thanks - that's nicely modest. For the record, it sounds surprisingly great with my old Lambdas - no more thin, fragile FR, very easy to listen to. All of that within 15W isn't bad. It's a bit of a bargain.

  11. Sending out good thoughts to everyone hit by this latest East Coast storm. We're without power now, going on about 36 hours and counting. Also had some larger tree limbs come down across most of our driveway and into the street. A great neighbor with battery-powered chainsaw helped at least move pieces to either side of the driveway..... Karen got us a hotel for tonight, power isn't expected back until tomorrow sometime (we hope!). We're also picking son Andrew up at school tomorrow, wishing for a warm house upon return....
