And now what did you do TODAY?
The best of America, right there......sorry you had to go through that CJ.....but Karma indeed came on strong. The saddest part is that those idiots still probably think you're to blame for them being arrested.

Sorry Tom....I don't even think the B's will beat the Leafs the way they're playing now...... Too bad the Isles have to play Pitt round 1, but still great to see them in the playoffs to begin with. I think in maybe two years they can be a potential powerhouse again, if they get good goaltending. And my cheer: GO B'S.....don't fucking embarrass this town!

And now what did you do TODAY?
Sucks for a Sunday Shelly. And congrats and Happy Summer CJ. Me: Took Karen and Andrew and went up to York and Ogunquit Maine, two beautiful seacoast towns. Really nice day, perfect blend of sun but a tiny bit of cool. We took a walk on a paved cliff walk called the Marginal Way and saw some great ocean views. Then Andrew and I got (to go, will have it tonight) two 5oz Lobster Rolls, from a small place in a quaint area called Perkins Cove. Voted best Lobster Roll in NE at one point.....drooling as I type this! A nice relaxing time to prep for what will likely be a hectic week.....

USB DAC or USB to SPDIF Converter - recommendations
I had an MHDT Labs USBridge and it supported 24/192. Only literally used it once, but it seemed to work fine. Here is a Musiland converter that seems to be similar, and is cheaper. The VLink 2 handles 24/192 and has AES/EBU output which I like, and isn't so much more at $200. Then there's the HiFace 2, not sure of price, but that also does 24/192 max as well.

^^ It's not that bad, really Washington and NYR will be a great series to watch, both teams came on strong at the end and are coming in to the playoffs hot. Boston....well, not so much.....as someone on another forum posted, Boston is falling on their asses into the playoffs. Interesting potential for change in standings with this last game for Boston (make-up game): B's win in regulation: Bruins face the Islanders B's win in OT/SO: Bruins face the Sens B's lose: Bruins face the Leafs Now, Bruins could use a rest for some of their players (esp. Chara, he looks tired). And Ottawa I'm sure would really like a win of some kind to eclipse the Islanders and not face Pittsburgh round 1. And, of all the teams the Bruins would want to face, I think Toronto would be the most favored match-up. So there's a lot of motivation NOT to win.... Just looking forward to the playoffs now. The way the Bruins are playing, I expect a round 1 or round 2 exit, but we'll see if they can turn it up. But the others teams will be fun to watch, too.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Busy but fun day...did a BJ's run in the a.m., cleaned up around the house & garage, then went to my son's soccer game (0-0 tie, some good defense and an occasional lucky defensive bounce). Came back, gathered some alcohol and food to bring to neighbor's house for a going away party. They are moving (back) to Denmark next Saturday.... Now, going to settle and watch The Great And Powerful Oz with my wife.

I still have a call to place to one of the upper level supervisors at NewEgg, I've written down a lot about what's wrong with their process and really want to see what he says. This is one more great example of a different company doing the right thing better and faster.

(Yet another) circumaural closed headphone thread
Tried these out, they were pretty decent. However, I think I may have a similar siutation with Shelly in that they hung low over my ears, even with cups up the farthest they can go on headband. Having little to no hair doesn't help, either!

And the Bruins choked away ANOTHER win.....they are looking so piss poor now, thank goodness Montreal went on a slump, they can't seem to fail out of second place in the East....if neither team wins another game this year, Montreal will slip into second by virtue of the tie-breaker games. Something tells me this isn't going to be a deep run into the playoffs for the Bruins. But still glad to see teams like the Islanders and Toronto get in......

NY spring Meet April 20 2013
Ditto. It was great to meet some of the folks in person (you especially, Tom). The one "newbie" I chatted with the most, Vertical, was a little older and a real nice guy. We talked more about the music and bagels than we did the equipment.

DSD DAC
For a little more than the Teac, the Matrix X-Sabre is an option @ $1100. Certainly FOTM-ish, but can handle a lot of files (including DXD). I picked one up, too new to tell how good it'll be, and haven't tried DSD files yet. Bringing it to NY meet today, will have some files up to max 24/192 Rez....

MIT Shooting - 4/18/13
It's weird, at times I've felt like I wanted to see him punished, tortured. My bizarre thoughts drifted towards a vigilante-type capture, and video-taping a process where pliers or something were used to pull off his appendages one by one for all those who lost lives or limbs. Play it on the internet for future possible thinkers like this. "Do this, and we'll find you, and we'll punish you" That is how sick this made me..... And as stories flowed in about who he is, his history, and his age, humanity crept back in. I want to see him punished, I want to understand why - not just from an intelligence-gathering perspective, but from a motivation perspective. Nothing will return the limbs and lives lost. But now it's about breathing, trying to heal, and helping those still in need. www.onefundboston.com, for all those who can help. Donated today at work.
