And now what did you do TODAY?
So sorry to hear Jacob! Only advice I can give: get her a new doctor. She's admitted she needs help, take it there. And keep loving her.....

Ottawa and Montreal game was intense last night! Only saw parts of it, and some highlights. Old Tyme Hockey!

Sennheiser HD 800 Redux
^^^ I have a Cardas DIY on mine, is good right now. Little to no edge to the music unless it's IN the music/recording.....

Sennheiser HD 800 Redux
FWIW, without any hot sauce, my newly acquired HD-800's - out of the modded Adcom GCD-750 and into the DSHA-1 - sound REAL nice. Steps below the NAD M51 to KGSS/007's, but still very enjoyable. May look into the mod sometime soon.

Wutt Gene sed.... Not bad, quite oversimplifying IMO, but gets the point across.

New Pro-Ject Turntable for decoding Satanic Verses
So I was looking through Sound & Visions report on new products in NY show, came upon a turntable section. They had a picture of the new Pro-Ject Essential turntable, and I realized it's used to play those old 1970's albums backwards to get all the satanic messages. Little surprised no one has corrected that picture, it's been up for a while

Go Islanders! And Washington is making short work of NYR..... Hoping the Bruins' "found ourselves" moments from game 1 aren't a fluke, and they keep it up tonight.

Al, that's just incredible! Chalk full of awesomeness! I got into Robyn Hitchcock because he sounded like a reborn Syd Barrett on Balloon Man; have always enjoyed, though never really got deep into his catalog. But that night just looks like a great celebration of a great creative talent, by a bunch of others with great talent!

Fuck in snow
"We're sorry....the number you requested is not in service. Snow will continue for the foreseeable future." Un...believable..... Mother Nature is seriously pissed at us.

Remember when...
This is a big part of things, we read about the (now more publicized) accounts of bad things happening, so we get nervous. But I do like to help people in front of my son, so he knows it can be a good thing. I had a similar event a few months ago. Went in on a chilly morning for some routine blood work, and coming out saw an older woman standing there. I almost went by her, but stopped and asked if she was waiting for a ride. She seemed a little nervous but answered she was waiting for a bus but thinks she missed the most recent one. I offered her a ride to her home (about 90% on the way I was going anyway as it turned out). Still nervous, so I explained I would understand since I was a stranger, and offered to show her my license and have her call someone on my cell phone to tell who I am. She agreed (no license or call necessary) and we actually had a nice chat on the way. I heard a tiny bit of her life in Europe and when she moved to the USA. In any case, I echo the great words above, and thank you Steve...for being you

Upcoming releases
Thanks, Ian; your recommendation got me into her (that and a cover of The Gun Club song She's Like heroin To Me). Will surely check this out!

The best of America, right there......sorry you had to go through that CJ.....but Karma indeed came on strong. The saddest part is that those idiots still probably think you're to blame for them being arrested.

Sorry Tom....I don't even think the B's will beat the Leafs the way they're playing now...... Too bad the Isles have to play Pitt round 1, but still great to see them in the playoffs to begin with. I think in maybe two years they can be a potential powerhouse again, if they get good goaltending. And my cheer: GO B'S.....don't fucking embarrass this town!

And now what did you do TODAY?
Sucks for a Sunday Shelly. And congrats and Happy Summer CJ. Me: Took Karen and Andrew and went up to York and Ogunquit Maine, two beautiful seacoast towns. Really nice day, perfect blend of sun but a tiny bit of cool. We took a walk on a paved cliff walk called the Marginal Way and saw some great ocean views. Then Andrew and I got (to go, will have it tonight) two 5oz Lobster Rolls, from a small place in a quaint area called Perkins Cove. Voted best Lobster Roll in NE at one point.....drooling as I type this! A nice relaxing time to prep for what will likely be a hectic week.....

USB DAC or USB to SPDIF Converter - recommendations
I had an MHDT Labs USBridge and it supported 24/192. Only literally used it once, but it seemed to work fine. Here is a Musiland converter that seems to be similar, and is cheaper. The VLink 2 handles 24/192 and has AES/EBU output which I like, and isn't so much more at $200. Then there's the HiFace 2, not sure of price, but that also does 24/192 max as well.

^^ It's not that bad, really Washington and NYR will be a great series to watch, both teams came on strong at the end and are coming in to the playoffs hot. Boston....well, not so much.....as someone on another forum posted, Boston is falling on their asses into the playoffs. Interesting potential for change in standings with this last game for Boston (make-up game): B's win in regulation: Bruins face the Islanders B's win in OT/SO: Bruins face the Sens B's lose: Bruins face the Leafs Now, Bruins could use a rest for some of their players (esp. Chara, he looks tired). And Ottawa I'm sure would really like a win of some kind to eclipse the Islanders and not face Pittsburgh round 1. And, of all the teams the Bruins would want to face, I think Toronto would be the most favored match-up. So there's a lot of motivation NOT to win.... Just looking forward to the playoffs now. The way the Bruins are playing, I expect a round 1 or round 2 exit, but we'll see if they can turn it up. But the others teams will be fun to watch, too.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Busy but fun day...did a BJ's run in the a.m., cleaned up around the house & garage, then went to my son's soccer game (0-0 tie, some good defense and an occasional lucky defensive bounce). Came back, gathered some alcohol and food to bring to neighbor's house for a going away party. They are moving (back) to Denmark next Saturday.... Now, going to settle and watch The Great And Powerful Oz with my wife.
