  1. Only saw the first period, did Ovechkin finally get going or was it just a lucky PP goal? Sabres without Vanek = fail And Montreal without Max Pac for a while, that's too bad for them.....
  2. 39 years is awesome, big congrats! Any special plans for 40?
  3. I have it, but haven't had time to really listen, it's not hooked up at this moment (still listening to my Stax). Initial listen with the NuWave DAC and balanced Senn 580's showed real good promise, though, the music had me toe-tapping some. Detail, dynamics, some space, but not a big loss in musicality seemed to be the norm. Recently just picked up a balanced AKG 701, it's able to eek out some decent bass from them. But something didn't seem quite exactly right to me with that match, need to listen more. But due to room work, the whole system is offline at the moment. Hope to have it hooked up again next weekend.....
  4. Rangers played a better game Wednesday against the Bruins, though they shouldn't have allowed the Bruins to get a point out of it. A healthy Gaborik, and that first line (Richards, Nash, Gaborik) is fucking awesome!!!! Haven't watched any Caps highlights, doesn't sound like they are doing well. Any thoughts on the issues?
  5. Happy Belated Adrian! Hope it was a really good day.
  6. Indeed, what has been said. Hope this resolves longer-term issues, Al. And I'm sure having some extra $ in the bank account each month will allow you to get over the anti-climactic feeling Vicki.
  7. Congrats to Steve, and Greg that sucks big time! At least you haven't completely lost the equipment.... Hope you can find another shop to get it up to speed.
  8. I want to catch more Philadelphia games, some good fights. I expect some more physicality tonight with Bruins vs. Rangers at MSG. Going out for dinner with my wife, but will DVR it.
  9. Happy Birthday!!
  10. Hockey is back, though not spanning two calendar years this time. Was great to watch the first games yesterday and last night!
  11. RIP. Definitely a great personality.... A buddy of mine lived outside Baltimore for a while. Big baseball fan, but grew up here in Boston area, loved the Red Sox. But he often said the only Baltimore baseball person he liked was Earl Weaver.
  12. Funny you asked that, I had searched on this idea maybe a month or so ago. I had bookmarked an old link I found, hope it helps. EDIT: also just saw this one and another one with a similar message (use a wireless composite video transmitter/receiver)
  13. Justin, I had something VERY close to this conversation at work last week. My final answer: Audio-Technica Noise Cancelling, available at Radio Shack right next to the Soul phones....(and I think at Staples too). It's actually scary that the Bose probably sounds better than many of these bling-brand phones.....
  14. [Thinking something about cups and wood.....]
  15. Happy Birthday Grahame!
  16. Done, thanks for riding! My company may also process a matching gift, will check it out. I registered them when I donated.....
  17. That has troll written all over it methinks.....
  18. Happy Birthday!!
  19. Nice pics, of both whales and cars!
  20. Ian, sounds a tiny bit like some of Caleb Carr's novels, have you read him? If so, any comparison?
  21. Sorry so late in the day, hope you both had great ones, and are continuing to have great ones!
  22. Great story.... Brings back some memories of my cat Athena, another runt; I got her at the shelter. My companion for 17+ years..... RIP Luvbug, and all the best to you Peter.
  23. Sorry to hear Dusty; I'm glad she had you as a parent....
  24. Went to a local museum today with wife and son. There was a special exhibit on hats. Not truly my cup of tea, but some very "creative" designs. This was many people's favorite apparently:
  25. Just catching up on this....if you are thinking tall and thin, you may find a good deal on a used pair of Silverline Preludes. I have the rev 1 version, and find them easy to drive with pretty deep bass..... EDIT: none on Audiogon now, but I've seen them (rev 1's) for as little as $500/pair.
