And now what did you do TODAY?
I think SF is only the Mecca if you break the word cocktail in two. Also, you best be back by the 10th!

And one day you'll remember all these times fondly. OK, maybe not soon, but one day. Get better!

Tweeter on speaker not working
I'm pretty sure that a suitable replacement for the tweeters could be found. As for your sub HA, if it's the UFW-10 the drop in replacement is the Dayton Audio plate amp... http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-804 It doesn't have as much power, but people have been having great success with it, as have I with both of my UFW-10s. The original amp, and it's later replacement from AV123 were pure crap. The drivers are quite good though, and they're worth the few minutes required to replace the amps.

DAC vs. Stats -- FIGHT
It does support 24/192, and has gotten glowing reviews.

Tweeter on speaker not working
Generally a blown tweeter still emits sound, albeit a raspy sound. It sounds more like a connection/crossover problem. I suppose it could possibly be the tweeter though. Unfortunately I've had my own share of difficulties due to AV123's less than stellar quality control. Check your connections to the tweeter first, then go from there. Also Shelly, I have a nice pair of speakers I could send to hold you over until you are ready to purchase something. They're just sitting in storage anyway.

T2 knob turning
Not to mention that certain woods (Cocobolo & Bocote to name two) do not need any finish, due to the oil/resin levels occurring in the wood naturally. You can simply buff either of these woods to a beautiful sheen.

T2 knob turning
I've heard this from several people and it always intrigued me. Here in Texas when I cut Purple Heart it is muddy brown, but within a day it turns a gorgeous Purple color. When I plane it that's really fun...within 5 minutes the little brown shavings turn bright purple. Maybe it's the salt air, temp or humidity down here, but it seems to be the opposite of what most describe. Agreed Kevin, the Cocobolo and Bocote are beautiful!

You only get that look on her face from a lot of kbps, and a nice Dhik.

Help With Amp and Headphone
So it's one stop shopping, because Cheesè Dhik Audio now offer the Porno Dhik Headphones, and they mate perfectly with the Grande Prick amp and Drippy Dhik DAC...

Where the Buffalo roam
Just got the Cambridge Audio iD100 digital dock this morning. I'm actually taking the day off to play with a new toy for the first time I can remember, and it's really good. Just starting the β22/F5 shootout now. This is going to be interesting! New DAC, new amp and new transport all in a few weeks time. FUN!

Where the Buffalo roam
No I haven't John, but have wanted to for some time. I'm now hoping the LCD-3 brings the price of a used LCD-2 even lower.

Nice! What are you going to turn?

Metrum Acoustics Octave: A NOS digital filter-less DAC
Interesting. My Buffalo DAC has a BNC input as well as RCA, but is there really much gear out there with BNC connections?

Bobby Darin sure liked some fugly cars!

Where the Buffalo roam
No I haven't Miguel. The Marantz gave up the ghost some time back, but with the Adcom the Marantz didn't hold a candle to the β22 IMO.

Where the Buffalo roam
Remember I'm electronically impaired. Do the Salas shunt regulators work in addition to the Placids, or do they take the place of the placid PS? MASantos, are the new Trident regulators an addition to the Placids or the Ivy III? Sorry if my questions are sophomoric, but I'm just starting to understand just a little bit of this stuff.

Help With Amp and Headphone
Naaman can you tell us how much we can expect from a Lil' Prick? Compared to what a full size Prick might offer is what I'm asking. I'm just wondering if the Lil' Prick will satisfy my needs, or should I just go straight for the full size Prick? I'm hoping to achieve that fullness that some smaller units just can't provide, but I don't want to disregard the Lil' Prick altogether, because I've learned that sometimes big things can come in small packages. I feel as though I could handle the full size Prick, but if I could get say 75% of the performance from the Lil' Prick, then that might be the best choice. Also how long before the Lil' Prick is ready to use? Can I use it immediately, or does it perform better after a brief warm up? Can I stay plugged into the Lil' Prick all day, or should I disengage between sessions?

Where the Buffalo roam
I spent most of yesterday evening comparing the Buffalo II to my Adcom GDA-700. While the Buffalo did outperform the Adcom in just about every aspect, it certainly did not embarrass it. I think I paid in the $150.00 range for the Adcom a couple of years ago, and that was, and still is a bargain price. Whenever I get a new piece of equipment that outperforms the exiting piece, I almost feel like I get new headphones in the bargain, because they simply rise to the new level of gear. One day I'd like to see just how far these K1Ks will scale. Detail, prat and soundstage improved via the Buffalo, and I think I hear tighter bass notes. I'm always careful about what I really hear vs, placebo until I have some time in though. It definitely is a bit more forward where the Adcom is a little more layed back. A good match to the very neutral β22. I'm waiting to get more familiar with this DAC before comparing the β22 to the F5. In fact I have not listened to the F5 via the Buffalo yet. OK, everybody come over and listen!
