The Headcase Stax thread
I will say that the people who like the K701, seem to like it with a passion. Not much middle ground with that headphone.

I feel that! When I moved from Anchorage to Texas my travel agent told me that my cat would travel in cargo. At the check in counter however, I was informed that he would have to go under the seat in front of me. 11 hours with no legroom sucked big, hairy horse apples.

Naw, I gotta go with her on this one. That's a fucked up image of manhood. Just my view however.

I will poor my own concrete counter tops, when I build my retirement home. The material cost is extremely low, and of coarse I'll cut myself a deal on my own labor.

The cool thing about Corian though is that you can use a Drimmel tool to make the edges look like chipped stone. I did this on some table tops I made some years ago. Similar to this... Might make a unique faceplate too.

I think that is the 'real' Gene Simmons, and what I've always found kind of fascinating is that a guy who probably does get women falling at his feet on a regular basis, can be so insecure. Textbook overcompensation. That must sound funny coming from a guy that constantly talks about his endowment on an audio forum, but the very big difference is that I know that my endowment might be a fun conversation piece, but in the big scheme of things really has very little importance or meaning. I truly believe that he thinks his sexual encounters define his life. Sad.

I would not buy a Sennheiser headphone if they were full of water and my ass was on fire. I am looking forward to hearing the Philips phones though. Good sound at a reasonable price needs to come back in fashion.- DIY PASS F5 BUILD THREAD

Initially I'd intended to add a volume pot, but my incoming Buffalo DAC will have one (as well as a very neat little surprise Naaman added). And his casework makes mine look downright getto.- DIY PASS F5 BUILD THREAD
Thanks guys. I had milled that faceplate at the same time I built the matching K1000 case, and I'd pretty much forgotten about it. Marc had kept it stored away all this time. He really did a beautiful job on this amp. Just loitering through his project room is always worth a trip to Austin though. You guys have no idea the extent of his projects, in varying states of completeness. Some truly impressive stuff!- T2 knob turning
Thus ending Al's lifetime search for the perfect Ebony knob. Kevin it's most likely the small size of the knobs that is causing the Ebony to check. In all larger pieces I've turned I've had no issues. Cut it thin though and it curls like hell. - CES 2012 Headphones
