Or send the grills to me and I'll mod them for you. I use my router table to cut out the grill section, leaving the rim in tact. Then I glue speaker cloth to the rim. Works great. Same technique as morphsci, but the router table makes it a snap.

I always wondered if some Dynamat inside the cups might help, but never tried it. It also has to be said that different K340s can sound vastly different, possibly due to age. I do agree that strings are not its strong point, but when you find the right pair/tweaks, they recreate female vocals superbly.

I agree with Dusty on both counts...It'd be nice to squeeze a stereo signal from SACD through HDMI (I would actually use my Oppo for music then), and being upgradeable is just good foresight.

I was tryin' to keep it on the down low. The first thing that entered my mind after the smoke came through the vent holes (well after (#&!)&*%#$^!#!!!) was damn, right after all of Nate's hard work! It was sounding soooo good too! We've already talked now, so you know that at least the timing was somewhat good, as a re-case and gain change was in the immediate future anyway. That and the fact that I still have my integrated and the F5 is close to being ready for duty. So it sucks big fat donkey dicks, but it could be a lot worse.
