  1. I don't understand electricity.
  2. I think it was probably a spotty wifi connection.
  3. I keep getting permission errors. Anyone else or just me?
  4. I keep getting permission errors today. Anyone else or just me?
  5. The Jets make it difficult to remain a fan. All I needed from them was to end the game by 4 pm. Win or lose. They couldn't even do that right.
  6. I don't know, but based on its droppings, I don't want to find out.
  7. I'm going to smash it to bits is what I'm going to do.
  8. I replaced the fuses on the suspect side. Problem persisted. I then replaced the single fuse that's at the bottom of the picture. Success! Then the problem returned. Replaced that fuse again. No joy. Problem back where I started. Does this seem like a grounding issue? This is starting to annoy me. EDIT: also blew out some dust with some compressed air.
  9. No meter here, so I just eyeballed them. I'll try to replace the fuses as a first step.
  10. So it looks like the old B&W speakers are ok, which leaves pretty much only the amp as the culprit. Specifically, it seems like one channel is problematic. The sound it puts out sounds very very muffled, distorted, and scratchy. I opened up the amp and didn't see anything that to my untrained eye appears to be obviously kablooey. However, I did note that one of the fuses on the board looks different than the others. It's not blown but could that be it? Anyone see anything else?
  11. It's an old Adcom GFA-2.
  12. Let's just say I'm glad the speaker is actually ok so I don't have to open it up again. But I will post the crossover pics as a thank you to zonker because I definitely would not have thought to start by looking for a panel on the bottom (floor side) of the speaker itself. Now I also need to start a thread for the amp...
  13. I'm laughing because I'm afraid. By the way, it's the left channel of the amp that's screwed up--not the speakers.
  14. ...or spider eggs.
  15. Mead gets the gas face!
  16. One of the speakers seems to be working fine. The other is not. The bad one sounds like the bass drivers are blown or not working or something. So I opened them up. I have some crossover pics that I'll post later. Fortunately, no spiders, but I did find something nasty: That's the back of the bass driver unit. As you can see, there is some sort of white substance on it. I have two questions: 1) could that be affecting the sound or is it just cosmetic? And 2) what the fuck?!
  17. Thank you all for the birthday wishes! Having a nice weekend in East Hampton. Drunky monkey tonight methinks.
  18. Indeed, thank you.
  19. Good point, though they would be well advised to stop the shenanigans because the scritch-scratch of their clubfeet are dead giveaways that they are sneaking up behind you.
  20. Why do all zombies seem to have some form of clubfoot?
  21. I saw the first episode the other night and liked it a lot. A little depressing, though.
  22. I remember hearing them both at Florida CanJam. The Harbeths were moar awesome by a wide margin.
  23. I'm 50-50, but hoping to make it.
  24. Seriously. Good to see you Aaron.
