I've been pretty happy with my 50" Panny ST30, though I wish it were 55". Always go bigger. But I understand spousal constraints, so I'll second Al's ST30 rec above. If you do decide to go up to 50", I would move up to the GT series.

By the way, I like the Whistle Pig rye that I just got (present from Pop), though I suppose that's kind of like a mouse saying it likes cheese.
