I'll copy what I wrote from SH boards about the new Steven Wilson album: (I really like this album ) I’ve listened to the album a few times, mostly in stereo. I will say straight off this is now one of my favorite Steven Wilson releases amongst everything from Porcupine Tree, Bass Communion, IEM, Blackfield, etc. And this does say a lot as I wasn’t a big fan of the most recent Blackfield and several Porcupine Tree albums from this decade. My favorite era for Porcupine Tree is the early more spacey progressive rock and I hear a lot of old school elements of that in Grace for Drowning. I don’t hear a bad song on Grace, and even the 23 minute Raider II never causes my mind to wander. I hear some influences from many classic prog bands in this album from early King Crimson to the harder rocking parts like in Red. All around an excellent album that flows really well. Mastering- again really fantastic, with huge dynamics. There are times like in a classical piece when it will go from very, very quiet to explosive. IMO if you like the album as much as I did the deluxe book is well worth it and it’s still available. The music on the third CD is great and definitely not filler. The entire package is well put together (similar to the deluxe book of Insurgentes).
  2. Not going to bother seeing if the mastering is better on DSOTM, but the Wembley concert sounds better than any bootleg of that show. It sounds really good.
  3. Thanks for the troll thread

Anyone hear the new Steven Wilson album? It's a lot more pop-ish than I was expecting. His descriptions made it sound like an all out assault on experimental/progressive rock
  5. Scott Walker - The Drift anyone else play this recently, used to be in heavy rotation in the old school H-C days. Still so effing good.
  6. Thanks I have been looking for a really long time, and have been able to use speakers quite a bit these days.
  7. Cosmetically they are great, but they'll need some work (the price was really right!). I plan to get in contact with Kent from Estat Solutions to do a full rebuild on them.
  8. Some electrostatic speakers (Quad ESL63) SR-009 will have to wait...for now
  9. Happy birthday Amos
  10. Going to close this thread so build discussion can be continue in their respective threads. PM me if you'd like it open. Sending out a pm for full address requests this evening to the rest of the T2 buyers, these are all packed up.
  11. So glad Wallace and Megatron came through for me this week, sort of needed when the Jets D put up -3
  12. I have to say it's annoying that some people will be essentially getting free passes twice in a season with teams that play IR players, bye players etc. Screws it up for people actually playing. Sorry not in a good mood after that Pats game.
  13. Damnit wish the Eagles game was on SNF instead of the blowout game that will be on. Also can not believe how the Pats give away a 21-0 lead.
  14. Very well written Tyll, oh lord I am going to end up buying the SR-009 aren't I Curious what you thought on the soundstage depth of the O2 vs the LCD-2? IMO I felt the LCD-2 presents a flat stage with little depth, the opposite of the O2 with it's "ventriloquism" like effect.
  15. None of the orthos I've heard can match the best electrostats in detail. They all have some slight fuzziness in the sound.

They are very good balanced, I was pleased with the improvement. I'll need to do more listening, only reterminated the headphone cable a couple of days ago.
  17. Happy birthday Jim!
  18. Don't recommend shit you haven't heard this isn't Headfi
  19. Really nice work Tyll. Looking forward to your subjective review of the SR-009
  20. Happy birthday Slack, hope you'll have an extra good time in NYC!
  21. Nice haul Greg, love Point of Departure, Evolution (this one blew me away, never heard of it before Music Matters released it) and Unity
  22. Sonny Rollins - Plus 4 Analogue Productions 45 rpm vinyl. Very pleased to have found this one at a sane price, my favorite Sonny Rollins album!
  23. If you want to build an LCD-2 system I can say the Dynamite is an absolutely amazing amp. Lil Knight just did a board run with the rev2 boards that uses singles devices. Another option is some variant of the Omega 2 and KGSSHV.
