They might have done that, but it sounds like the EQ was adjusted manually, hence the really weird/unnatural sound (again this is to me knowing what it's really supposed to sound like YMMV). I don't have any of these CDs anymore, sold them almost immediately.

Genesis discography is a mess on CD. There are so many different versions of the pre-remaster CDs. Some sound good (even the best CDs will not touch the very good/excellent vinyl because the CDs are taken from such late generation tapes) and others are dreadful. It's hard to say which it will be unless you listen to it. The crappy CDs were probably taken from pre EQ (where the phono stage RIAA curve should adjust the EQ) LP tapes, so you basically have no bass and tons of high frequencies. UK Charisma and Mad Hatter vinyl would have been cut from either the master tapes or very close generations. Classic Records reissues claim to be from the first generation master tape.

I agree The Wire is better than The Sopranos. I didn't mind (not sure if that is quite up to I enjoyed it) season two, but it was the weak link in the series.

All the albums are digitally remixed. They have a more "modern" sound to them with the remixing. Personally I think the UK originals (though quite expensive) and Classic Records reissues (also OOP ) sound a lot better.

From the specs of the Gilmore Lite (wall wart power) would it be able to power the LCD-2? A few LCD fanboys say nay.

I always played the most evil bastard I could. My karma was dreadful and the character names were from Paradise Lost. IMO you should always choose "bloody mess" trait, because it's hilarious watching bad guys explode.

I only played each game once, so I have not heard about this. When I played I chose "gifted" so I could have +1 stats in everything, then just shifted around Agi to 8. And then used stims before big fights. If you do find out let us know, I searched through a couple of FAQ/guides and couldn't find the answer. Also agree that Fallout 1 is cooler than Fallout 2. Haj if you can boot into XP you should be fine. There are fan made patches for WinXP that fix nearly every bug that you'll probably never encounter one. I played all of Fallout 1 on my laptop's track pad.

Ouch sorry postie I screwed myself in a similar situation in Fallout 2 my first time (exploring too far on the map, and getting raped by high level random encounters). Always use all 15 save slots (or how ever many there are). So you got to the last floor of the crater/under ground building and can't get out? How many times have you tried, IIRC the radiation poising hits in random intervals (and you don't have enough healing items to keep you from dying from radiation)? I just remembered there are some hard as shit parts in Fallout 1. The early game can be brutal, like the fucking mutant lizard dungeon where you have to rescue the dumbshit that gets trapped there. The end game is so fun though. You are making me want to install it again...

Jeff, evenings are usually best for me (past 8 pm ish). It would be cool if we could invade the H-C chat.

Firewire should have been the audio standard for computer use -
Even though the Pats aren't looking as great as other years, this is going to be one of the best seasons in football. Can't wait for the draft.

Will people be buying multiple back ups of the touch screen? If it were to fail in the distant future I could see it being a pain to replace.

The FirstWatt M2 looks really interesting

DanC are you going all aluminum 2 box that is the question? Anything less will be disappointing

I await HeadphoneAddict MPI's review to see if they have rubbery bass

Good to know, thanks KG. All in one devices, for the most part, are useless.

Looks great Birgir. Sorry to hear about the 717 Antonio :'(

At least for me, it's just easier to go along with what the majority want to do. Panel wise and stuff it sorts out a lot of the headaches.

Yeah as much as Meridian gear gets a bad rep around here, I do like their remotes as well. Overkill no doubt for the simple things that a CDP needs to do, but the remote is still built well. Anyway I'm concerned about sound quality first and foremost. Which is why I was considering an RK50 or P&G and didn't mind not even having a remote. I was skeptical a touch screen would be completely transparent to electrical noise, but if it's good enough for KG, it's good enough for me

	Heh, sorry Jim.

Because threads on Head-Case always stay on topic I moved the posts because the T2 thread is actually worth keeping on topic.

How is an iPad going to do all those things with a preamp? A preamp is not a music playing source. It might make more sense to code this program for a DAC or music server. Sorry I don't buy into iPad hype for a second. I've used one for a few hours. It has a blown up low resolution screen and can't multi task. Not impressive at all. I don't care if the billet aluminum remote costs more. The KG Blowtorch isn't a budget preamp.
 -
Because I don't want a dumb ipad. I want a badass remote. All the remote has to do is change source selection and volume. Not tell me about the weather and crap.
