  1. What we need is a pop-up window that asks "did you read your welcome pm?" whenever someone with less than 10 posts tries to post. If they click "yes" it takes them to the welcome pm. If they click "no" it takes them to the welcome pm.
  2. Excellent, I like the way you think. I was thinking aluminum remote too. One that would be a menace to hard wood floors, small children and pets. edit: my Audio Space integrated has a really nice remote. I don't know if it's aluminum, but it's 2 pieces of heavy metal. We could probably find something similar from China.

Congrats Naaman!! She is a cutie
  4. I don't post that, it was uh swt61...yeah I will give in and go touch screen on the Blowtorch
  5. Knob jockey. That sounds like an interesting profession. I want those 50 mm knobs for the KG Blowtorch

That's pretty funny considering the measurements KG posted of the Exstata
  7. You should probably be on a PPI even if you're not taking NSAIDs. Steroids can be harsh on the stomach as well.
  8. My Koetsu experience is in line with jp's. It gets tiring hearing mostly the cartridges signatures record after record. My friend used to be a big Koetsu nut (had 4 or 5 of them iirc), and the DV XV-1s at a third of the cost of the top Koetsu was just all around better.

I will agree there isn't much music discussion here. I use other forums to find out about new music.
  10. I like the look of that new arc assembly, sort of cyber punkish.
  11. Damn SR-404 etch. Forever burned in my ears
  12. grawk's old one built by thrice. It's not a big deal, vinyl on the Omega 2s is sublime. Even when I had the SUT I was mostly listening to digital on the speakers.
  13. I did borrow postie's Cinemags for a few months. In the Stax setup (with Blue Hawaii which had ample gain) comparing the Pearl alone vs Cinemag->Pearl the latter just added a bit too much color for my liking. Low level resolution also took a hit. I can understand when people say the DL-103 is a colored cartridge with Cinemags/Altecs.

There might have been some anti Headfi sentiment back in 2006, but no one really cares any more. It's mostly new members trying to stir the pot. Three of the mods here also moderate (or used to) on Headfi.
  15. I'm still interested in trying Peter Daniel's phono stage, but no one has offered input on it 70 db of gain with my DL-103 would be great for my TVC. Without a SUT the Denon/Pearl is unusable in my speaker setup
  16. Yup pretty stupid seeing those PCBs even on ARC's "reference" $10000+ products.
  17. I wasn't Apple free for a few days. I picked up a Mac Mini G4 and got the wireless working with a USB device. After a few hours the novelty wore off. I gave it to my parents and they like it. But they're old
  18. Oh damn it's Shark Week. It's gonna be a good week
  19. Top Gear and Boston Med
  20. Give me your mailing address will mail you some JH kool air. It tastes like Zima
  21. What are the mods to your Bottlehead? IMO their products are some of the most midrange centric I've heard even amongst SET. Give me DC coupled wide bandwidth over that any day. A good recording/mastering will retain the midrange realism on a transparent system.
  22. I would try a KGSS on your source to see if you like it more. I don't hear any particular KGSS sound. Well I didn't hear a Blue Hawaii sound either so YMMV. Both amps sound like the source with a touch more bandwidth on the BH. BH + HE60 was damn good. So much better than any Stax transformer box.
  23. It's probably explained somewhere in the ESPN site but I'm lazy. How does the online draft work- is it each person has X amount of time to make a pick before going to the next person? And if they don't pick in that time frame they get an auto pick or their pick skipped?
  24. lol nice rubber strap
