  1. Nah, not joking. My speakers' nominal impedance is 6ohm. Thanks for the clarification. I put the little smiley because I figured tkam would know I was referring to the 22L because I bought them from him.
  2. so is that 750W into 6ohm?
  3. happy birthday matt!
  4. alright laine, happy birthday man!!
  5. There are a lot of different versions of Aja, it being one of those classic audiophile albums. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm thinking the Hoffman version is a very specific MCA pressing (Hoffman also did some mastering for MCA, which I think was his work pre-DCC). Then there is the Cisco pressing, which was mastered by Kevin Grey @ Acoustech. When Grey's name is on it, you can pretty much assume it approaches the quality of a Hoffman release, since Hoffman & Grey are buddies and work together frequently.
  6. If you own a turntable, you should own the Cisco Aja. GREAT record!
  7. Vanguard Mutual Funds.
  8. happy birthday ian!! Have a great one.
  9. Sounds like any cartridge recommended so far would be nice. I might as well throw in my standard DL-103 recc since thats what I always do about this time. Of course its output is very low, so you'd need a step up or an MC capable phono. The AT440MLa is also always a good choice. Solid cart from top to bottom.
  10. Right on, thanks for your response. There is some competition in that price range used, namely the Krell SACD Standard. Problem with the Krell is that the reviews are all over the place, probably more so then any source I've ever researched. And of course we can't have a mid-fi SACD player without tons of transport issues, can we.
  11. I have a handful of RVGs (some Griffins, Turrentines, Drews). For the most part they have a nice sense of space but are a bit bright. The Griffins in particular I have to listen to at a lower volume. Of course I much, much prefer either Hoffman stuff or Acoustech stuff.
  12. Anyone heard it or heard anything about it? MUSIC HALL/SHANLING CD-T200A TUBE SACD PLAYER - elusivedisc They run ~$1500 range used on Audiogon. Nice looking unit when it has the silver posts instead of the gold. Two of the tubes power the output, the other two tubes power a headphone amplifier (output on side of unit). It also has preamp functionality (onboard volume). Shanling = Music Hall, which is a good thing I guess. I've never heard Music Hall stuff but I've heard good things.
  13. what kind of tonearm you got on there? detachable headshell? S shape or straight? sorry I don't know much about dual tts.

I think vintage RS1 prices are crazy in general, but that dinged up cable should lower the price significantly. Makes you wonder what the can has been through.
