  5. BUY A LITTLE DOT MICRO+ IT IS WIRE WITH GAIN BUT IF YOU ADD GOOD CAPACITORS IT SOUNDS SO DYNAMIC AND BLOOMS THAT IT IS LIKE THE BEST DH_SET OTL SOUND COUPLED WITH THE ELECTROSTATIC ENERGIZER DETAIL AND LINEARTY. THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED IN NUMEROUS CAPACITOR ROLLING STUDIES IN VARIOUS POSITIONS LIKE THIS: RESULT: MORE LIQUIDITY AND SPARKLE IN THE HIGHS BUT BASS IS NOT IMPROVED. FAIL. NEXT: RESULT: WITH POWER SUPPLY UPGRADE DYNAMICS IS ADDED BUT THERE IS A SMOOTHING OF TRANSIENTS. FAIL. FINALLY: RESULT: BIG BASS, BIG DYNAMICS, LUSCIOUS MIDS, AIRY TOP WITH SOME SPARKLES NO ONE DARES MAKE FUN OF MY AMPS NO BECAUSE I CAN TURN ANY AMP INTO GOLD BECAUSE I KNOW AUDIO ALCHEMY.
  6. is that the one modified by audiocats? Is the bottom an external power supply?
  7. I hope this is all some sick Friday the 13th joke >_<
  8. Are you sure you didn't cut it too deep? it looks like it could still move vertically, and with how heavy the cans are, i'd personally have it more flush, or even have the cans higher than the bottom half just to make sure the foam squeezes it so it doesn't move at all. that blew my mind
  9. early gift for your daughter? it will have more than 150 thousand hours of burn in when you give it to her for grad present. the wood would be like.. fossilized..
  10. The quince dac needs more burn in.
  11. Honestly, I think i stirred up the hornets nest years ago when i reported about the ld's tube arching problem. From my single incident of shitty power tubes and a fried superfi, their whole rep got mired even up till this day. They were fast with sending me batches of new tubes to try out, and offering to replace anything damaged (ue too care of that..) and even without asking I had a bunch of tubes sent to me over fast ems airmail on two separate occastions. Out of the 4 pairs of tubes one pair did do well, but eventually died too. Thats when I started looking for the higher quality russian tubes. Now I have not tried any of their current offerings so I cant comment about them and am not out to kiss ass or make up but Ill say that the unit i bitched about(my first amp ever before even joining hf) is still up and running with no arching or turn on thump or any problems whatsoever. The solution was purchasing a set of those nos russian power tubes at reasonable cost that are much more robust than the stock chinese ones. I've transported this thing around and it's banged up as can be yet still working great. I'm fairly confident jimp will be satisfied based on how I was treated even in such early stages of that company's life...I think they lost money with my amp purchase in the end
  12. this thing would sound more in the likes of the sp extreme and darkvoice 336 and maybe the wheatfield than the previous ld offerings based on the ef92's and stuff.. typical 6sn7 and 6080 thingy..
  13. can a computer play with others on a playstation
  14. Capacitors never leave you. You can stay with one till it's burned in, or you can swap caps all night long.
