  1. I couldn't agree more Jeff. Yeah, there's been some fun racing this year, but at what cost? Drivers being told to short shift to meet fuel flow requirements, cars breaking because of stupid hybrid technology. Why not give them 22 Prius' to race? With the hard skinny tires it might just be a good bit of fun. I was, however, glad to see Hamilton beat pretty boy. Hamilton's luck of late has been shit, and I'd like to see this remain a competition. And hey, go Riciarrdo!
  2. Two pound pork sirloin roast. 7 hours in the water bath then a quick sear. To be served with fresh green beans.
  3. From the Floyd's: pan seared duck breast with confit potatoes, chocolate balsamic reduction, shaved carrots, pickled cherries and watercress.
  4. Ok, I'll admit I've shied away from whole fish as I have no idea how to eat it. Help a poor Philistine.
  5. Great idea! So did we.
  6. R.I.P. Boyfriend. Condolences to your sister, Carl.
  7. Hugged my kitty and am now raising a glass in honor of Miko. R.I.P. My condolences Ric.
  8. This.
  9. Correction: Awesome chimichurri.
  10. I have this one, and it works fine for me. Jacob has a little higher end FoodSaver (I believe) so wait for him to chime in on what he uses.
  11. Ziplocks will get you started Ben, but eventually you'll want a vacuum sealer.
  12. Back in line, this time with Jacob. We got here earlier so a much shorter line today.
  13. A few months ago, Gene sent me some beer. One of those was a beer brewed by Matt. He told me to drink it at an appropriate time. With Jacob here I figured it was time. We miss you Matt. Cheers.
  14. Jacob making a chimichurri to go with the chuck steak. Debbie is helping.
  15. Thanks for that Wayne.
  16. Eventually I'd like a chamber vacuum sealer. Dusty, with a chamber the entire bag goes in a vacuum chamber so pressure is equal on all sides thus no liquid movement. But they are expensive.
  17. This one. It does very well unless you have liquid in the bag - it tends to suck it into the unit. You can keep that from happening by manually stopping the vacuum when the liquid gets close to the inlet. Not as complete a vacuum job, but it has worked for us. So far we really like it.
  18. Warming up the water bath for a chuck steak experiment. 26 hours at 131 F. My guinea pig tomorrow night will be a certain Mr. Reks.
  19. Happy Birthday Matt. I will toast you this weekend with another friend of yours.
  20. Yep. Hits well above its weight.
  21. Happy Birthday!!
  22. We'll go Jacob.
  23. He's not in that boat alone. Get better Brent.
