Audeze LCD-2
It's two guys who both work 70-80 hr full time jobs (One of them also has a music label) and a silent partner. Really cool guys who are dedicated to producing a product that is worth the money. That aside the LCD-2s are decent headphones. Feel free to do your own research though.

Sennheiser 800: Time to go balanced. Options.
I'd frankly suggest switching headphones too. I don't think the HD800 is by any means the best you can be doing for your money. For roughly the same money or less with a dynamid amp I prefer LCD-2s and AD2000s. Of course if you find the hd800 superior to these then our tastes differ so much that there's nothing valuable I can contribute to your decision making process.

The DIY and audio equipment rut...... where to now?
Mikhail was very good at that. Like how he unlocked the hidden feature of my maestro chassis, i.e. to hold wall warts. Kid blowing the whistle in mario 3 in the movie "The Wizard" had nothing on him. Mikhail with a power glove = game over bro.

Rudistor new portable amp and IEM
Laf portable state of the art doesn't constantly advance really. Most releases are a rehash or a step back. Would be cool to have a cmoy thread that documents what all is a cmoy out there with internal pics. Sad thing is as expensive as this thing is I don't think it can hold a candle to all/red wine audio for most expensive cmoy

Audeze LCD-2
I haven't had an issue with any of my amps/sources with the lcd-2s, but then again like most of the people here our gear is a little less crappy than the average at head-fi.

Sometimes the HD-650's bore me...
This is due to mismatched impedances. Generally low impedance headphones do not perform well with amps that have high impedance output. OTL amps in general have relatively high output impedance. There are exceptions (I think the menace had pretty low impedance). Plus I mean poor performance doesn't necessarily mean that you won't like the sound. Most people like stuff that performs poorly or tests poor. I have no idea if you are one of them or not. I certainly have enjoyed many items that perform/test poorly myself. Shrug while the HD800 is faster than the hd650s. I certainly wouldn't put it anywhere near the AD2k in speed. I find Rush boring just like I find metal boring.

Sometimes the HD-650's bore me...
No surprise to me that HD650s bore you. Slow headphones bore me as well. I'd say things that don't bore me are on what I consider to be the faster side of things AD2000, LCD-2, W5000s (with the right amp.. not sure yours is), k1000, qualias, electrostats I'm sure the he-5s are also pretty speedy

The Ultimate DIY Part 2 ? The KGITSOJC
I do too. I always liked the remote to Voltron's Onix player. I would want the titanium remote to have razor sharp edges too to punish those that don't accord it due respect when handling it.

Audeze LCD-2
I dunno LCD-2s do sound good though. Having spent the last month or so Qualia only having loaned out my LCD-2 to j4cbo and have just gotten it back.. still holds its own. Very different sounds though.

Assemblage 2.6/2.7 and Icarium rants
A person who accumulates gear with as much drive as NoNoNoNoNoNo (Numerous dacs, amps, diy projects, ortho dynamic headphones, other headphones) and then has money problems even after flipping numerous items for a good and significant profit doesn't have pitiable "financial issues." He has problems with money management and knowing how to live within his means. I don't doubt that he needs money, but the culprit is still greed. I mean I don't know for sure, but every interaction I've had with him substantiates this theory of mine... in my mind anyway. Others, including NoNoNoNoNoNo are of course welcome to vehemently disagree And yes I think he's a delusional sociopath.

Assemblage 2.6/2.7 and Icarium rants
No he hasn't. He doesn't want one modded though especially not by NoNoNoNoNoNo. He's looked at my friend's CTH which was built by NoNoNoNoNoNo... not the worst ever, but...

Euro-meet: A Thread.
Having just gone there for business I recommend Wroclaw, Poland. It's really nice there and most of all its relatively cheap since it's not on the euro. I'd say cost of living there is 70 percent of what it is in the states. There are tons of pretty girls, and the beer is great. And it's a pretty place with a lot of things to do for a short trip. You'd probably want to venture elsewhere if you were planning on being there longer, but for a couple day meet is well worth it.

I'll take the last two if they aren't spoken for (Not of this batch, but the last, last two )

Has the DAC landscape gotten convoluted lately?
Dunno what units you are talking about. Sonic Frontiers and Assemblage are basically the same company i.e. Parts Conexxion when they were still making products with all designs by Parts Connexxion's Chris Johnson and his team. Assemblage was simply the kit-based branding though they offered them factory assembled as well i.e. by Parts Connexxion (Connection, etc). The Assemblage DAC1 is the SAME thing as the Sonic Frontiers Trans DAC except in a different looking chassis. So how is one brand fantastic and the other overrated? Certainly some models arent as good a value as others and some aren't that great while some are awesome... but that's how things go huh?

CHROMA MD1
Having owned a rudistor amp and heard many stories... I am not particularly hopeful about the design/build quality of these things.
