  2. They aren't accidentally sending an aes3 signal instead of spdif over it, are they?

Calm down Jeff, not all of us have enough money to have people move our speakers for us.
  5. What the fuck is wrong with this year.

I really didn't need the idea of Mr Rogers associated with that.
  9. Goddamn.
  10. I used to love the whole ritual to sitting down for serious listening, getting everything ready, reading the liner notes, etc. Now though I find music connects with me much deeper if I don't "plan" to be listening, and just do it spontaneously. Especially when I'm listening to something, and somebody on discord suddenly posts a link for some completely different track than what I was listening to, so I switch to it next, and just continue grooving to something I wasn't even considering listening to a few minutes before. 1.21 jiggawatts?!
  11. When I load a game I haven't played in a long time, it's like this...
  12. Well, when you put it that way.
  13. I used the K1000 money for my PC upgrades, can't afford nothing like that right now.
  14. Oh man, everytime I boot up an RPG I haven't played in a while, I find myself in some place I don't know wtf it is, why I'm there, or what I'm supposed to be doing.
  15. Honestly I got tired of how fiddly the K1000 is. Has to be positioned just right to sound best, and I tend to move a lot while I'm listening to music and vibing. S'why I sold my last pair, just isn't compatible with how I am despite how nice they sound.

Reminds me how lucky I am not needing some pill to be ready for sexytimes.

    Do it.
  19. My experience with "audio grade" electrolytic capacitors is they've been intended for circuits where they're directly in the signal path as coupling capactiors, which is avoided in the first place with a good design.
  20. It's actually a years old intermittent connection that's gotten worse over time, and I'm tired of having to press/wiggle the plugs to get it to work. This meters been treated pretty rough, so I'm not that surprised by it. It was the one I used in the field, so it got banged around six ways to Sunday.
  21. Fluke doesn't seem to have it for sale through their parts department, probably because it's not considered a "user replaceable" part. I went ahead and backordered it from Newark instead.
  22. Not yet, I suppose I should though.
  23. Anyone know a place that might sell a replacement input jack receptacle for a Fluke 189? I was able to find it at Newark and Allied for ~$20, but it's on backorder at both of them.
  24. Had a Vodavi phone system at work that one of the station ports didn't work. Normally I wouldn't even bother trying a repair on one of these and just replace the unit, but lacking any working ones on the shelf, I decided to have a go at it... and somehow actually managed to fix it. 😲 Random picture of one off the internet for reference: I had to replace one of those little blue transformers, the thermistor beside it, and some smd components on the back of the board, with ones I salvaged off a different broken unit. It took a few passes to track down everything that was damaged, but now it works as it should. Yay.
  25. Happy Birthday both of you! Try to stay out of trouble tonight.
