I dunno, I'm using 14ga twice (bi-amped) for my Maggies. Put four of the 18ga together to make some 12ga speaker cables.

You rate the 18ga favourably? I only buy 22 & 24 gauge by the thousand, but having a few more colors for 18ga could be useful.

    Want.

    Sounds about right.
  5. Yes they do.
  6. If anyone is gonna do this, I'd recommend only using standard size 40lb zip ties, not the 18lb mini ones that I use as those can't be tightened enough (without breaking) to use on the outside of a normal cable. Another option would be to desolder the cable and tie a knot in it right at the entry point, but that may not be practical with such a bulky cable.
  7. An empty shell of a HP 3325A, so I can replace the front panel on mine.
  8. I love it when they play hard to get. The beating will always be ready and waiting.

Oh man, that site is great.
  10. That's quite impressive, so what project was Team Arcy Sparky working on when this happened?
  11. Well mine stayed plenty sharp for the 2-3 years I've had it (I've even done things like accidentally cut the solder lugs off connectors or cut the pad and trace off a board when not paying attention to what I'm doing, aka 4AM soldering), but the one blade just suddenly decided it want to go for a trip and broke cleanly off right past the cutting edge. Scared the shit out of me since I wasn't cutting anything thick or hard. Do the Xcelites have a lead retainer option like the Xurons? I can't live without that thing anymore.
  12. A couple Xuron shear cutters, since I broke my current one. I can't find where the blade flew off to either...
  13. Or just send it to Ari for a week and you'll be good for 10 years or so.

Say anything bad about old school AKGs and I'll fucking murder you in your sleep. Oh, and welcome to Head-Case.

Headphones aren't enough for you anymore, huh?
  16. That's because you accidentally peed in the cornflakes instead of the sink.
  17. Here the temps are only getting into the high 80s, but the humidity gets over 90%. Sweat is futile!
  18. Honestly I don't know how the hell he puts up with all the nonsense coming from first-time DIYers who seem to want the kits to come with MOAR, be available yesterday, and cost half as much.
  19. I'm Gen Y but I still buy CDs all the time (I probably have around 100-150 CDs I've never listened to yet)... not to mention things like paying $60 for one album like I did the other day. \
  20. Yeah, but they can't exercise any control or restrictions on ordinary MP3s.
  21. Question... does it have a built-in ipod dock?
  22. Ok, so who's gonna shoop it?
  23. Looks like a great office rig.
  24. The trick is to not stare at the screen all day. Look around occasionally, deliberately blink more often, take short breaks, etc. I never found out until I switched to contacts, but when you're actually focusing on things at the computer (i.e. working) you blink a hell of a lot less than normal, which can cause your eyes to dry out. So that might be a possible cause too.

You mean to tell me people don't accelerate up a ramp when just sliding on it, rather than decelerating due to friction? I refuse to believe this nonsense!
