  1. AD2000 has the right frequency response, but its soundstage might not be the greatest for orchestras. Do a quick search for W1000 here and you'll see that it's probably not a good choice. AD1000PRM: I don't think anyone here's heard it, but at least from the reviews from Japan I've read they're not very bassy. These next people have some suggestions to offer | V
  2. I did think the VDA-2 could be bright, and that's why I have a TransDAC now. Doesn't have some of the good things the VDA-2 had, but I'm taking steps to do something about that.
  3. Those are some sexy panels. I really like that one second from the bottom.
  4. I used to use a regular $15ish Logitech keyboard that was great, until I found mechanical switch keyboards (definitely not value keyboards). I hear the flexible keyboards are quiet, but just poor for regular use. My roommate uses that Saitek (well, a very similar model) and it's just a standard "gamer" style keyboard.
  5. Head-Case is apathetic?
  6. Well a GS-1 is a sexy-as-hell Dynalo, so I guess you could try and find a DIY person to build a similar Dynahi? Don't know how much that'll be or if the power supply for that will fit inside the same size enclosure as GS-1, but it's worth a mention, I think.
  7. Nice, I heard KLEER is actually pretty damn good. Be sure to report back on how they work.

  9. Standard build with AD8620 for LR and 8610 for G, class A bias with JFETs, LMH6321 buffers, unity gain, 24V AC adapter. The AD8610 in the ground channel gets burning hot, and I was measuring something... DC? from power to V- or V+ of one of the leads of the 8610 and it was going back and forth. Also, the LED (this) doesn't even light up. RLED is 7.68k. I'm new to this whole thing so I'm not sure what I should be measuring and what they mean... if anyone can help I'd be forever grateful.
  10. Check out these frequency measurements on the Westone 3, as well as the ATH-CK100 and ER-4S. [url=http://fuchinove.chillout.jp/]
  11. Took a final, worked some, went to class and fell asleep, banged on some drums, ate, cleaned house, showered.
  12. Time to become Code Monkey and write a script or program that combines thread pages into one giant file.
  13. Doesn't he already have one?
  14. No, there definitely are less reviews for DIY goodies in general.
  15. AKG K701. Yeah I know, K701.

  17. Also note that the GS-1 is a Dynalo, which can be built DIY, IIRC. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  18. There's a good thread on that very topic, check it out. http://www.head-case.org/forums/headphone-amplification/2826-team-m-3-unite.html

And mine's cancelled too. I wonder how many they had stocked and how much they were selling normally.

*plays the waiting game* Oh well, I could use another $100 saved.

  22. iPod Touch ammo, duh.

I'm pretty sure a bunch of people agreed that the 2G touch has great sound (headphone out), better than that of the 1G. (Correct me if this is wrong) I have a Sony A818 right now and it's fine except for the hiss. I have the stuff to make a line out dock cable, but I'd need a portable headphone amp and that's somewhere I don't think I want to go back to. At this point I'm just toying with the idea of an iTouch, with lack of funds+need holding me back.
