  1. I missed the Segway shenaniganery and besides the silly nonsense they told me when I (on my own accord) went to their table they gave me no trouble at all.
  2. The Pico DAC has no amp circuitry; the Pico has mandatory amp circuitry. But the DAC itself is the same yes.
  3. Indeed. Streetcleaner was pretty awesome too. I go get a bunch of music and occasionally posts in this thread remind me to go listen to them.
  4. I wish I had some real buddies to play Catan with.
  5. Well you've read different opinions... if you can't place some weight on those based on previous opinions of those people, then you have no other way to tell but to listen for yourself. Don't know why you have those 3 Grados in particular (esp. SR-60+MS-1) but the HF-2 is better unless you like that type of Grado treble.a
  6. Easy, just buy the HF-2 and you won't need to think about the HD800.
  7. I think he meant "is this gear any good" but he certainly could use some lessons in getting his point across clearly
  8. I didn't like the HD650 out of Frank Cooter's massive amp. Still very dark IMO.
  9. I certainly do. This game (nsfw) needs to come out.
  10. *hops on the revision bandwagon* K701 HF-2 would probably go here, need to order it ESW10 SA6 MX760 MDR-V6 PX100
  11. You listened to the C-2C amp?
  12. Yeah screw that cheap plastic, we need MOAR WOOD
  13. I didn't think that was the case at all. With bowls.
  14. I think he's a little D and thought he was still over there.
  15. If you don't need it small, try your hand at vintage receivers on craigslist (or ebay)
  16. Congrats to NoNoNoNoNoNo, what a bangin' ending to CanJam.
  17. I could never like flats with any Grados (except HP-2/1000) because they just became too muddy for me. The issues I had with the MS-2 will be completely different than yours for that reason.
  18. All I can think of are cheap (as in price) Chinese products like audio-gd Compass, iBasso D10 (portable) Currawong has experience with the Compass (as well as other audio-gd products)
  19. elnero and Cankin, re: MS-2 vs HF-2 The MS-2 was good and fun, but it was very "Grado" with a little too much treble energy and seemed to lack lows extension or mids fullness a bit. I didn't find any problems with the HF-2, no fatigue, all smooth, everything sounded great. I'll go listen again today but I think these thoughts should stay the same. This was out of thrice's Buffalo -> tooleaudio balanced M^3 (I used the SE HF-2 because the balanced one had flats)
  20. Some more general ones... Smyth: I did not expect that realism that people were raving about, but this is the real deal. I briefly sat down at Beyer and did their little head motion thing... a toy compared to Smyth's stuff. HF-2: a little extra bass oomph, but very good balance. Preferred it over HF-1 and RS-1. Nick Drake's Fruit Tree (acoustic folk) sounded incredible. Shure headphones: The highest model SHP840 was rather nice and not too closed sounding, comfy, and solid. The lowest 240 model is bad. L3000: Just not my thing. Sounded artificial. D5000: Definitely not my thing. Weird, boomy, bland, something. Monster Beats: lol. sources and amps: everything sounded good to me, but I don't recall using anything outside of the usual good HeadAmp, HeadRoom, DIY stuff. Lots of nice upstream components at the meet. I also expect cetoole's C-2C impressions... lucky bastard
  21. A bare Pico Slim (and its "competitor" The Shadow, also bare) were there. A raffle-rigging cetoole was also there.
