Thanks. I guess I will need a mini display port to HDMI cable? I will also take a look at the PS3 and see what I can do with HBO Go (we have HBO, Game of Thrones... duh).

Prompted by the thread on The Wire, I noticed that it is available on Xfinity's new Streampix offering. Since I have Comcast triple play (1st mistake ), I get this for free. Unfortunately, The Wire is an online only offering (some stuff on Streampix can go right to your TV, others not). So my question is, if I wanted to watch this on a TV instead of the computer, can I do so, and if so, how? Also, I do have a PS3 that I could use, if this is a way to do so.

Happy Birthday Todd!

Thorsten Loech had some interesting things to say about DSD vs. PCM here. He doesn't seem to think much of DSD though. Kuel Yang Wanf is his id here. I just found the discussion interesting, but don't know that much about it.

I hear ya. My wife got us tickets twice back in 2001 or so for U2, and we paid over $100 each, at least the first time. Last summer, out of the blue she decided that we should go see Radiohead, and found some decent tickets (pavilion, not lawn) on the day of the show from Ticketmaster. I thought it had sold out weeks before, but apparently they released some more tickets. So we went, and it was a really good show. We've seen Peter Gabriel twice (mid 2000s, two different tours) and didn't have too much problem with those either. But other times, it is impossible, at least without waiting until close to the date of the show. Stubhub for us has been at a hell of a premium, and so far we haven't paid it. Garbage was playing in a small(er) venue here, and had sold out. Stubhub wanted at least 50% more over the standard price, so we didn't even bother. I can see Dan's point, in that you can get tickets that would be impossible on TM if you are willing to pay for it. I never seem to recall having much problem getting tickets back in the '70s. Saw ELP 3 or 4 times, the Mothers once, etc.

^ True dat! I'm surprised that its replacement, The Walking Dead, isn't on the list... Not.

Not much of a Joss fan from what I've seen. The Shield should be higher (much) on the list IMHO. Breaking Bad should also be higher. Never have really gotten Mad Men either. I really need to watch The Wire as well.

Might have to try those also. Currently I'm using some Bolle Vigilante with interchangeable lenses, but sometimes get caught in between and obviously am not going to stop to switch lenses (and usually don't have them with anyhow).

Does anyone know someone who could Re-Ball this board?
Pars replied to Les_Garten's topic in Do It Yourself
Yeah, in your circumstance, i can see why you would be reluctant to pursue that. I haven't talked to the guy I was told knew about what we have and whether it would be permissible or appropriate, so I am just guessing as to whether or not I could use it. Good point on the reballing for the component only. I don't know a lot about this shit (and see BGAs as the work of the devil ). -

^ I suppose having a tech do the work for you at your place of employment would be somewhat unethical, though I question that if it is on their own time, and you aren't reworking boards for sale, etc. Doing a 1-off for your personal use would seem OK to me, if the company equipment is not in use, etc. This place seems fairly reasonable: http://www.circuitrework.com/services/terms.shtml $15-$75 for reballing per component. -

You have probably googled reballing/reflowing and seen countless links/videos, etc. of DIY processes? I have a Powermac G5 logic board that has a chip that needs to be reflowed or reballed as well. The problem is finding someone who can do it in a cost-effective manner. I haven't gotten around to approaching someone in one of our engineering labs at work about getting my hands on a BGA rework station that we apparently have. I replaced the logic board with a used one from ebay, and it is working OK. http://www.retronix.com/application-specific-balling-and-reballing -
Yep, just saw that. A shame! RIP

My mistake. I was thinking of the mussettes on Ventoux. This was illegal, and the light penalty is an outrage. Should have been at least a couple of minutes. Had Froome bonked...
-
The organizers permitted food within the normal 10km (for a mtn. stage) so that was legal. I think it is 20km on flat stages also. I was laughing my ass off over another forum post on the mtn. stage after Froome had taken the yellow jersey, but got isolated with no teammates within a mile or more of him: "All that said, this year's TDF has been boring partly because no team has the stones to really challenge Froome. They isolated him in the mountains, and rather than putting in endless crushing attacks, Valverde/Contador/Evans/Schleck decided to take him for a no-drop group ride. I think the story of 2013 is "Froome benefits from stupid race strategy" rather than "Froome dominates opponents"."

I've commuted to work Tues./Wed. and today, and agree on the fricking hot and muggy (maybe not by FL standards), particularly on the commute home. Drivers continue to be courteous. Saw a guy on two days commuting on a 4-lane divided highway with no shoulder (curb) that I would not even attempt riding. Not sure if it was the same guy both days. Props for balls, not sure about brains

Heal up Marshall! Sorry about your ride leader Vicki, hope he also heals quickly, and they catch the perp(s). Also, the white pearl paint job sounds great!
-
^ Well the TKDs are better than the RK27s, but yeah, once you go beyond the sub-$100 pots, you are in for some spending

Uggh... floods suck Aerius! Screw the look Vicki, if the Brooks makes you happy, stick with it, even on the Kirk. Also, have you seen their new non-leather saddle? http://www.brooksengland.com/catalogue-and-shop/saddles/touring+%26+trekking/Cambium+C17+S+Ladies+Ltd+Ed/ Seriously overpriced IMHO, but early ride reports seem favorable, and you wouldn't have to worry about rain, etc. with it.

Yes, I watched the premier and thought it looked promising as well.

You guys watch HR? I figure if I'm not in the ditch, it be good Raffy: you are trying to get your bars lower? I ran across this calculator today which might be useful http://yojimg.net/bike/web_tools/stem.php Doesn't work so well for my quill stems Or maybe it would.

Happy belated Birthday Greg!
