Yeah, that is sad to hear Al. I suppose the chemo and radiation kinda wiped his quality of life out over time as well. Sucks. Ditto on sympathies to his family.

I think there are some concerns/criticisms of the parts used, as well as the design. Input FETs are one that I recall.

That didn't seem like much of a personal attack... (if any? dunno, not that sensitive about these things) I think we say something like Grow some thicker skin around here. But what do I know.

I took Wed. and Thurs. off this week to trim a hedge in our back yard. Got done early afternoon on Thurs. so took it out for 30 miles. Nice bike, Campy stuff works great on it. I don't think that Anders is unconvinced, but simply pointing out that posting at huddler-fi with no evidence to back up the claim is ineffective, and likely to be deleted as unsubstantiated. And since when can you not post pictures at huddler-fi? I just went there and it seems to support images in thread postings?

Good bike for her. Use SS cables and lined housing. You should be able to find a set for not much $. I think even the Bell ones that Wally World sells are OK.

Rotating weight (wheels) is more important than static weight. I think they used to say that 1lb in the wheels was worth 2 anywhere else. Weight mainly effects acceleration, and climbing. Rider weight far exceeds bike weight. In my opinion, reliability/longevity trumps weight any day. Of course I'm not racing. And I am paying for my own parts/maintenance. What the tour teams do (and who/what kind of sponsorship deals they cut) has no bearing on me. And stuff like Schleck dumping a chain 2-3 years ago seems asinine at that level to begin with.
