  1. Many of you know that I make and sell these. The price is $25 each shipped at PayPaled, add $2.50 per order for international shipping. Please specify pro or normal bias. Please PM if you're interested, I have a limited quantity left at this point.
  2. can you try 3x 6SN7 for example?
  3. I was going to say dry... which isn't bad, but seems to describe the b22 as I hear it. Anyways, cool beans. Since I need to mail you something anyways, would if something that didn't require any work (okay, maybe a small amount) showed up in the box? This is the good kind of work though that doesn't require a trip to the shop and can be done in the comfort of your room with a screwdriver
  4. what tubes are you trying? I'd try to get the gain as low as possible, by tube selection...
  5. nice proverbial mouse drop... you're going to start a stampede! .. or at least as much of a stampede as is possible with a single baby elephant and a viking...
  6. That's what I figured.. But, they are not made to use a nut. There are two different versions (from the Neutrik website): Standard: selftapping TAPTITE
  7. So, if if warm is to the right of neutral, what's to the left of neutral? Whatever that is, I'd wager that's what the beta22 is.
  8. I don't understand what the problem is with the bottom hole... you mean that a nut won't fit? Anyways, I use these all the time. I just grab a 4-40 or M3 socket head screw and torque them down.
  9. There are a lot of much better options out there than Artic Silver. Here are two: http://www.aavidthermalloy.com/products/options/ultrastick.pdf Home
  10. I find it funny that just about every amp is "very different" than a beta22 when paired with the K1000. And by every amp, I mean two.
  11. Loosing fingers seems to run in the family It's about a 50/50 "split" between sharp knives and power tools though, so up until now I've avoided both.
  12. Lalalalalala...
  13. please keep me out of that conversation. I don't know what I'd use it for, so I'm blissfully ignorant. I'm saving up my pennies for a saw at the moment, once we get moved to the new place and all...
  14. How much wiggle room do you have in the spindle to pivot measurement?
  15. do you solder standing up?
  16. that's precisely the problem. they're not well-marked and it's easy to get confused.
  17. no, K340 is more like a tranny
  18. now, see I was thinking you'd take the other approach.. like, "anyone tried mincing beans with a Hattori"
  19. how do you think the ortho was born? damn dynamic whore... the 'stat didn't stand a chance until it was too late.
  20. The only thing to watch out with some of the Ikea lamps is they pollute your power like you wouldn't believe. You might run into issues if you're doing some precise measurements. I actually have one that I turn on specifically to see how well PSU can filter junk out. I'm still looking for a good light for both the desk and a garage shop light. My father over the years has been steadily increasing the strength of light he uses to read with, and recently discovered that this might be due to some medication he's on. I'm headed in the same direction as he is, so figure I should just invest in a good light source now.
  21. I couldn't get a good fit with the 404LE either. Removing my glasses helped, but the pads didn't fill in the area around my temples.
  22. why the heck were you wearing a suit to a headphone meet?
  23. Heh, I'll try and clarify. I just cannot see myself owning the 404LE. They don't do anything better than any of the headphones I listed and the cost differential in my opinion is minimal for the huge upgrade (good point Jim, but again, it's a big difference IMHO). I prefer Stax over Sennheiser and I think the SR-007mkI is still the top dog.
