  1. I'd say it would be indistinguishable. Even better is if said mediocre engineer designed both pieces of gear that are being connected.
  2. fair enough. my point is that most are badly engineered, hence the prevalent statement that one is better than another*. By badly engineered I mean not designed by a RF engineer. * I don't believe this 100%, who am I kidding. People hear what they want to hear.
  3. sorta reminds me of this book: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0439104319/$%7B0%7D
  4. badly engineered
  5. I disagree. One could have a properly terminated AES/EBU connection and horrible coaxial/toslink implementation. For argument's sake, the coaxial connector could have an incorrectly populated voltage divider resistor on the output. Would this be noticeable? yes.
  6. i hate this thread
  7. swt61 loves the CD3000* * this product may contain mods known to be harmful to the State of Kansas
  8. what is resell like anyways? that's actually an option I hadn't considered.
  9. yeah, I dunno... I just don't know if I'll like the IEM experience enough to warrant that sort of cash. Like I said, I'm happy with throwing away money and upgrading down the line, because that implies that the IEM thing is a viable option. That's preferable to spending more money on something and never using it, or hating to use it, or not liking the sound, etc.
  10. yup I agree. What I don't know is how the 13s in universal form compare to the 5 in custom form
  11. I haven't decided. I go back and forth with just getting the cheapest thing they offer and seeing how I like it and going all out. I've never owned a custom so I'm a bit leery... The price differential is enough that buying the JH5 and upgrading down the line to the JH13, assuming I get nothing for the JH5 is still okay in my book.

    Canjam 2010.

I wouldn't worry about that as much as something trying to get one of swt61's signature "reterminations" installed
  13. then we couldn't laugh at you
  14. just made an appointment for impressions... therefore, I decree that this is the end of FOTY. Seriously though, anyone with customs have slightly-more-than-mild TMJ?

I'll get it worked out. It took a volcano to reschedule the trip this time, so I'll have to obviously out do that...

right now I have to be in Amsterdam on Wednesday I think things will work out, but it's unclear if I can reschedule this trip or not, or get someone to cover for me.
  18. Left Hand makes a decent milk stout... here's a "review" Fermentedly Challenged: Left Hand Milk Stout review
  19. I've been playing with one at work at well, working on some new exploits and malware for it. I don't particularly care for it either, but I have a feeling it would be handy to have around the house though.
  20. $52 for a single 1.58" x 3.35" 4-layer PCB
  21. I think I'll call customer support. Pending the above info, I'm going to go with the TC-P42G25. I wish I could have gone bigger, but it just won't fit where my wife will allow it. I cannot justify the cost of the LED and I don't really need the thinner profile in this particular deployment. Now, looking for a good price, so if anyone runs across something, or a coupon, etc. please let me know
  22. oops, I meant a local machinist
  23. Doug, how many do you need anyways?
  24. I'd source something like that locally if I needed them in great quantities... otherwise, I'd DIY.
