I like the RB300, not sure why people would consider the Grace an upgrade...
-
I think experimentally I have found the more subs the better. I have tried four subs placed around the room and felt that to be the most convincing setup. I am not sure this matches the theory or not
-
I think you would have lower distortion to sum the two channels and send the sum to each sub.
-
The easiest way to do it is using the analogue inputs. Buy something like a Behringer CX2310. I did this before and it worked great.

I think it's better to just get the connectors on either end of a box. I suppose it's easy to buy the components separately and find a nice Hammond case to use. I think this is a nice project for a rainy day. Any experience controlling these via a digital output and then routing signal to the other full range speakers via an analogue output? I would have to do something like this as well. Hm. Gets one thinking.

Naaman: I like those plate amps, but I have a tapped horn and not sure if they would interfere with operation, so I would consider a bussel or completely separate enclosure. Ever seen a separate enclosure?

Got 50 staples removed and replaced with horrid smelling adhesive and what looks like tape. OK.

Oops! I am not sure how I missed that helpful info, thanks! Here's the intersection between the catalogues: Prokoviev: Lieutenant Kije - Stravinsky: Song of the Nightingale* (Reiner) The Reiner Sound Rachmaninoff: Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini - Falla: Nights in the Gardens of Spain (Rubinstein-Reiner-Jorda) Prokofiev: Alexander Nevsky (Reiner) Khachaturian: The Masquerade Suite - Kabalevsky: The Comedians (Kiril Kondrashin) Rozsa: Violin Concerto - Benjamin: Romantic Fantasy (Heifetz) Lalo: Symphonie Espagnole (Henryk Szeryng) Debussy: Iberia - Ravel: Alborado Del Gracioso, Valses Nobels Et Sentimentales (Reiner) * included for Lt. Kije; Song of the Nightingale was included with Scheherazade in the Sony SACD series. Edit: no. Symmetric difference? Whatever. The new ones. There.

I posted those in the HF thread. Sort of running low on those. I really only seem to smoke a few brands, mainly Tatuaje and Illusione and their ilk, the occasional Fuente perhaps ... they are up at the lounge but not more than a couple boxes.
-
Working on optimizing my space to fit another box. I would like it to be Cohiba something, but need to know what fits first.
-
In a word: yes. Though I missed what you told me earlier. Science!
-
-
Pausing the science for a bit (though I would say the original Sony recordings must be the best bang-for-the-buck in the remaster hi-Rez classical scene)

As an former Audi owner with APR upgrades, VPI speaks the truth.

The native mail app sucks. I only had huge amounts of issues with it, that being one of the problems that never seemed to fix itself. I disagree with Ian, the Gmail app is way better

Jeff, glad to see you are coming to your senses. Will you accept delivery in MI? Your choice to drive through Canada or "Canada". Though I would argue NY is more "Canada" than PA, they accept Canadian currency on government roads and in gas stations!

Right, what I meant to ask was if there were topological elements that more or less made the power supply performance a moot point, similar to a plate CCS dealing with PSRR. It sounds like the answer is no and the final design takes on the "sound" of the PSU to a certain extent. Again, perhaps film caps are a better choice here.
-
It would be useful to show why that much is needed, and if there are other ways of achieving PSRR (good CCS do this), assuming that's why you need so much.
-
Do you really need that much capacitance, if not what about using DC-Link capacitors? At least do the math from a cost point of view.
