  1. Nope. It might help reduce some heat, but shouldn't really reduce hum, unless you have a poorly designed transformer.
  2. Hm. If the battery voltages are on and offset is fine, LEDs are lit, the circuit pretty much has to be working. The reduced volume in one channel to me is very odd. I would perhaps continue to swap the easy stuff, input (assuming this is good) source and output tubes and even the two umbilicals. See if you can get that behavior to swap channels.
  3. Ok. Do the same and swap the input tubes. Compare.
  4. Yup, connect a single channel and measure across the big resistor in series with the MOSFETs in the PSU
  5. Perhaps the trimmers in the batteries?
  6. Depending on what was used as a gasket, you might need to pull from opposite sides of the basket at the same time.
  7. I usually fashion a grabber that goes in at the screw holes. You can remove some (wood) material so that you can hook the basket from the back. I am having a hard time describing this, but basically be aggressive inside the screw holes as it will hide any damage.
  8. So what do the resident Apple zealots think of this XcodeGhost thing?
  9. Give them a shot. Help confirm for future builders
  10. I have used something by Acronis and Clonezilla. I would also recommend a "clone" instead of a "copy" as you invariably miss something.
  11. Does the noise get audible? Meaning, you hear a squealing without using the headphones?
  12. I think he issue comes down to tolerances. It shouldn't hurt to lower the resistor though, for new builders I don't see why you couldn't just start with the lower value, doubtful any harm would ensue.
  13. No, you need to start a revolution for wire to board connectors. Kerry and I are the grassroots movement
  14. So, likely a media (soda?) blasting process? Interesting. The color looks a bit different as well. Not a critique, just saying it looks different than I would have guessed.
  15. I am curious, is that dial solid platinum or is it somehow textured (media blasted?) or polished? I always imagined platinum to look a bit different than it does there..
  16. Perhaps in a bit, I am going to match the lot and see what falls out of the bunch. Yeah, I have equal numbers of both polarities.
  17. No luck with the MagicEraser, but some $10 TurtleWax headlight junk seemed to work on another area...
  18. Yeah, I could take some of the extra off your hands.
  19. I don't think I can do it manually. There are 40 holes per channel that must all line up with a PCB. I think I might take another thermal junction penalty and avoid using a bracket and plotting how that could be done...
  20. Wow nice! Any left over extrusion material?
  21. Pfff... A girls bike.
  22. Yeah, I figured. I was curious if any of the DIY setups could handle this? I would actually prefer a T Bar extrusion to an L, but the question is if the clearances work out. I need to do some math and figure out the minimum dimensions I need and match this up against common sizes and see what my real requirements are.
