Openly gay boys finally allowed in the Boy Scouts!
That must have been quite a sight, a Supreme Court Justice burning his uniform. I wonder if he kept his merit badges? Maybe Steve should send him a Cher Appreciation badge.
- Happy birthday Jinp6301

Made it to Hill Climber designation last night by surpassing the $1500 limit. I assume this means they will provide a volunteer to push me up hills during the ride.

Chris, I am planning to go watch/photograph the Grand Prix of Reston at the end of June. Probably pretty low level racing but should be fun to see.

The bad weather/storm thread
Those images of the aftermath from the large Tornado that went through Oklahoma today look pretty bad.

It really is quite an accomplishment, especially the climbing. I would guess there was a lot of pure determination involved in the ride as we big guys don't like hills.

My U-Haul only charged $30 to install. I guess I must have been lucky as they seemed to be a decent outfit.

That sucks. Aren't there a dozen different U-Haul places around there? My U-Haul shop was great and I was in and out in 30 minutes.

The local communities really went all out for Ride your Bike to Work Day. I came home early and went for a ride. Most of the major stops were staffed with volunteers giving out fruit, water, gatorade and coffee. The W&OD Trail was pretty packed with people that had ridden into work. Stop lights had back-ups of 20-30 bikes as we waited to cross. For some reason I was useless on the bike today. I blasted through the first half of the ride but was dead the whole way back. One of my worst rides ever for some reason.

Not sure about the store but this looks like a pretty nice deal if someone is looking for a Garmin 800. $209 http://www.westernbikeworks.com/product/garmin-edge-800

I would like to but I also want to take the camera gear in since it looks like rain all weekend and I want to try the teleconverter at the National Zoo. Don't know that I want to commute into DC with all that gear on my back.

Briefcases, Bags, and the Murse
Time to pick up yet another bag for the train commute. Mostly iPad and some little stuff. The Coach leather bag lasted 6 months before needing to go in for service for shoddy work and the Tumi bag has pretty much fallen apart but I haven't bothered getting it serviced. Anyone have recommendations for a nice leather bag that have impressed the Briefcase/bags and the murse devotees?
- Happy birthday Pars!

Finally have the bike set up to the way I like it. Upgraded to the 2013 SRAM Red front derailleur to take advantage of the yaw control and have the seat setup up properly thanks to Chris' input. Should be a nice long ride. Just a couple of weeks to go. Thanks everyone for all the donations.

Luckily we have not really had any heat up here yet. My last three rides have actually been kind of chilly. I hope it stays this way for as long as possible.

1st and 3rd 70-200 w/ the 2x so 400 f5.6. Surely that is what this set up is intended for, flowers at 4 feet. The middle one has the 35 f1.4 because that is what I had on when I walked up to the flower.

Did a short 15 mile ride this morning to try out the new Compact crank. Huge difference. On the way back I kept looking for the hill climb that always kills me and realized by the time I got back to my truck that I had done it without even noticing. It does make much of the little ring fairly useless as the hills around here do not really need much gearing with the compact. Destroyed my PRs and averaged over 17MPH for this ride which made me happy. Wind was really tough as the, I think Cottonwood trees, were pouring shit down that was peppering my eyes the whole way. I need some riding glasses as my Maui Jim Ti do not give enough eye protection.
