  1. Hard to tell without micro-detail. Non-Unicode ASCII is only 8-bit, innit?
  2. Wait, micro-detail and plankton aren't the same thing? I thought they were. I got your micro-detail right here (grabs crotch). Naw, it'll be fine, just think of it like whack-a-mole. Complete with squeak noises.
  3. Thanks! And now for something completely different:
  4. Can't stop listening to Brad Mehldau, can't seem to get past this piece he played for an encore (almost verbatim). Those extra harmonization notes he chooses at 1:15 and 1:17 are sublime, though I think what he played when I saw him were slightly more dissonant, and I think I might have to start working on a simplified guitar version of his arrangement.
  5. Does anyone else smell a shillstorm a-brewin'?
  6. So great on so many levels...I can't even...I even like the music!...but yeah, pretty much everything about this...commercial?...is perfect. It's even yellow...
  7. Cheers to that!
  8. Happy birthday, Al! (party favour ... assemble! ... and make noise)
  9. Daw!
  10. Exactly. Please don't feel bad, I feel your inadvertent misspelling actually describes you more accurately. Cheers.
  11. Oh, you are so getting classified as chill. I wish I was more chill.
  12. RIP Chuck Berry.
  13. Got my corned beef and boiled cabbage that I was denied yesterday.
  14. Aye, classic stuff, that. Cheers, mate.
  15. Closer to the Heart..less, a Spotify playlist put together by Pallbearer to give an idea of the sound they were shooting for with the new album. This is pretty hilarious, because it runs the gamut from ambient to prog to AOR to metal to shoegazer to 4AD to Gong to...yeah, pretty much anything and everything. Which is not at all my experience, listening to Pallbearer. But who knows, maybe they got injected with some wild creativity...
  16. (squints) It does? Does it sound better or worse than MQA?
  17. Yeezh.
  18. It's possible my information is pre-2K. ...probable, even...
  19. Yeah, my first impression was, "critical?", but...any difference is a difference, so it's not lossless. Lossless has a very specific meaning.
  20. Yeezh. Are you punishing them, or teaching them how to deal with car mechanics?
  21. Brad Mehldau, 10 Years Solo Live
  22. Put me in the 'Brad great' camp. He's right up there with Keith Jarrett, as far as I am concerned. He only played one encore, because DC audiences, but it was a good'un -- the Beatles' "And I Love Her". But before his finale he explained that he was playing Bach, then a piece inspired by that piece by Bach, and with some improvisation mixed in. "...so this next piece will be another 'Bach/Me' pair..." (titters of laughter from the audience) I was really hoping for Exit Music, though, that would've been nice.
