  1. I'm on my desktop, I can't see the video either. Maybe it's private/non-shareable?
  2. I don't know, and too close to my bedtime to guess, but I am incredibly curious. If you want to give it 24 hours, I'll guess tomorrow. Speaker isolation (Auralex, Primacoustics) or Turntable isolation (...uh...). Oh, look at that, Auralex makes something called an ISO-Tone...that's my guess. What about volume, did that make a difference?
  3. No, it's just one of those incredibly catchy tunes. I can't hear "Instanbul" without hearing "not Constantinople". An 'earworm', as it were.
  4. Not Constantinople?
  5. Fuck, that's cold.
  6. I'm more of a Oregano, Parsley, Dill Weed, Carraway, ...oh, who am I kidding, I like all the spices. Except maybe anise, and even that in certain recipes, if used lightly. I'm sure there are others. And maybe allspice, which is a weird name, and shouldn't be called that. Thanks Shelly, I'll definitely check Sage out and see. I do have some unmentioned requirements, so don't really expect anyone else to have a solid recommendation. I'm trying to figure out a good model for what I'm trying to do. It's sort of a sparse matrix meets...I don't know...that's why I didn't mention it, the idea isn't fully formed yet. Thanks everyone for all your input.
  7. Yeah, that's probably it.
  8. Zero 7, EP and EP2
  9. I really doubt you'll be able to hear it at 32 bits/384 kHz. EDIT: That said, I agree with Spritzer v -- there are some things you just can't fix in DSP. Like impedance mismatches.
  10. I'm less concerned about ground lost than doing permanent damage. I'm hoping he is revealed as an alien (or whatever) sooner than later. Me: Goblin: The Lonely and Great God (Korean soap opera?) -- really interesting show, but not sure what it wants to be -- an adventure, a fantasy, a romantic comedy, the odd couple? The premise is interesting, and the girl is adorable. I caught up (more or less) on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., I think I've given up on Arrow and Flash. Not sure about the others yet.
  11. Oh. I thought it was a portable environment so that I didn't have to breathe the air. Maybe I should get a space suit.
  12. My initial impressions: Oooo! Orange! Hexagons! Cool...uh...er...something grill...art deco wavy lines!
  13. Does anyone know if there's a way to figure out what bitrates are going to the DAC on a Windows computer? Listening to Black Sabbath now. From memory (several months), it sounds a little less harsh, but that's from memory, it's going to require some contortions to find my downloads, which got lost and not restored when I switched computers. (Because I found them too harsh to listen to repeatedly.)
  14. My dream...except I wouldn't be keeping the non-growing-things yard so neat and tidy, I'd just pave it over with shrubberies. And there'd be anti-aircraft. Okay, maybe my dream is less of a farm and more of a bunker/evil lair. Also -- how in hell do I not know who Laurie Spiegel is? (wanders off to look her up)
  15. Just like HDCD is PCM under the hood? Interesting, I thought it was an entirely different format...I guess I should actually read some of the articles beyond the first paragraph...
  16. That might be a function of their interface, which seems to time out, so if your connection is slow, fails to show up.
  17. Er, no, ...I mean, you don't need to invest in a $700 VPI record cleaner, but at least get the cheap equivalent, I forget what it's called. Doctor something?
  18. Please be careful!
  19. Get a good record cleaner -- you'll be surprised how much a noisy record can clean up.

  21. I won't go if they do -- there just isn't enough of a catalog to justify it yet.
  22. House of Prog
  23. Yeah, not sure why you threw that word, 'nostalgia', in there, didn't seem like what the original post was about.
