  1. I'm less concerned about ground lost than doing permanent damage. I'm hoping he is revealed as an alien (or whatever) sooner than later. Me: Goblin: The Lonely and Great God (Korean soap opera?) -- really interesting show, but not sure what it wants to be -- an adventure, a fantasy, a romantic comedy, the odd couple? The premise is interesting, and the girl is adorable. I caught up (more or less) on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., I think I've given up on Arrow and Flash. Not sure about the others yet.
  2. Oh. I thought it was a portable environment so that I didn't have to breathe the air. Maybe I should get a space suit.
  3. My initial impressions: Oooo! Orange! Hexagons! Cool...uh...er...something grill...art deco wavy lines!
  4. Does anyone know if there's a way to figure out what bitrates are going to the DAC on a Windows computer? Listening to Black Sabbath now. From memory (several months), it sounds a little less harsh, but that's from memory, it's going to require some contortions to find my downloads, which got lost and not restored when I switched computers. (Because I found them too harsh to listen to repeatedly.)
  5. My dream...except I wouldn't be keeping the non-growing-things yard so neat and tidy, I'd just pave it over with shrubberies. And there'd be anti-aircraft. Okay, maybe my dream is less of a farm and more of a bunker/evil lair. Also -- how in hell do I not know who Laurie Spiegel is? (wanders off to look her up)
  6. Just like HDCD is PCM under the hood? Interesting, I thought it was an entirely different format...I guess I should actually read some of the articles beyond the first paragraph...
  7. That might be a function of their interface, which seems to time out, so if your connection is slow, fails to show up.
  8. Er, no, ...I mean, you don't need to invest in a $700 VPI record cleaner, but at least get the cheap equivalent, I forget what it's called. Doctor something?
  9. Please be careful!
  10. Get a good record cleaner -- you'll be surprised how much a noisy record can clean up.

  12. I won't go if they do -- there just isn't enough of a catalog to justify it yet.
  13. House of Prog
  14. Yeah, not sure why you threw that word, 'nostalgia', in there, didn't seem like what the original post was about.
  15. I got stuck in Toy Blast. I don't usually play these games, but it was so easy...until I hit about level 51, then I got stuck for a while, then I got lucky, and now I'm stuck at level 54, I think I'm going to quit here, because I keep getting overwhelmed by the ice, and "cold turkey" is the only way I know how to beat an addiction.
  16. Bandcamp (so basically directly from the musicians) I've also seen records in Books-A-Million, Barns & Noble, and Guitar Center. Last one I got was that Animals 180G 2016 remaster I mentioned recently.
  17. Over here, it's recommended that for males, as soon as the balls drop, and I don't know what the female equivalent is. Bobby lost his at like 8 weeks. But I would trust the doctor's recommendations -- if he doesn't feel comfortable operating on them so small, then he shouldn't. ASPCA recommends 8 weeks
  18. I wouldn't know nothing about that, so would prefer solutions that don't require either of those things. In fact, I would prefer solutions that stick in the audio world. Now one thing that I will do and have done is go to live concerts, and that definitely increases my enjoyment.
  19. Well, yeah, they don't have age restrictions like we do. That's why it's recommended to have them fixed as early an age as possible. Cotton looks like he's smiling.

  21. Listened to A Passion Play by Jethro Tull last night, listening to Simon Rattle's Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition now. Really digging it, hope they add more. They have some Bowie on there...Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, others, but no Ziggy Stardust...similarly, they have Thick as a Brick but no Aqualung...but they do have the first and fourth Foreignor albums...two by Ornette Coleman, didn't see a whole lot of jazz on there, yeah, I'd say it's about 50% classic rock. The only Kate Bush they have on there is 50 Words for Snow which is a weird choice. Oh, look, they have the first three from Black Sabbath -- I actually have the 24/96 of those, I can actually compare those.
  22. So how dysfunctional are you, that you keep coming back for more?
  23. Listening now. Sounds pretty clean.
  24. That ^ is why.
